We're glad to see you on our website, the largest collection of quotes and sayings by famous people. For over 20 years we've been collecting the most insightful and inspirational quotes and sayings of famous philosophers, politicians, scientiests, musicians and artists.

Then we've decided to make a website to share all the quotes we've collected. Here on this website you can find over 1 million of quotes and sayings worth checking. Thousands upon thousands of them shine brightly with true wisdom, give you a good advice and motivate you to keep going forward.

A couple of words about us. List-Quotes.com has been started in 2001 as a hobby project by David Grimes, a software engineer from San-Francisco, CA, specializing in natural language processing. A couple of years later Daniel Booker, a philologist from Cambridge, MA, met Dave on one of computer science forums and joined the project. Working together they managed to collect over 1 million of quotes over the years. In the beginning they used to save all the collected quotes and sayings on their personal computers and share them in local networks. Finally, in May 2022 they decided to make it all public. That's how the List-Quotes.com site was born.

We do plan to keep going and find even more interesting quotes and sayings in future and share them with you.
