Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah, Aga Khan III was the 48th Imam of the Nizari Ismaili sect of Islam. He played a very important role in giving the Muslims a political stance to express their opinions to the British. He led a deputation of 35 Muslim politicians to discuss the demands of the Muslims in the Subcontinent with the British Viceroy lord Minto in October 1906. He was one of the founders and the first permanent president of the All-India Muslim League (AIML). His goal was the advancement of Muslim agendas and protection of Muslim rights in British India.
