I would loved to be called an actor, and not comedian.
There are various factors that make a show, so if the shows of other actors did not work, it's not their fault. I don't think it is fair to take names or bring down someone because their show didn't do well.
A lot of people tell me that on screen you're jumping and bouncing around with joy, but I take too much time to open up in newer surroundings.
I want to do clean comedy and make kids laugh.
I am not going to point fingers at anyone and dissect why their shows didn't work.
My cameo appearance in 'Happy New Year' doesn't mean I am seriously considering a shift to cinema, not at all.
I love to observe children, the way they talk and express themselves. 'Talk to my hand' is something I heard my son and his friends say. Even when I was in the U.S. attending college, it used to be a favorite snub for comments that we didn't appreciate. So I incorporated it into the act. I never imagined it would become so popular.
Akbar and Birbal stories have an instant connect with people of all ages.
I don't want to do anything where my day becomes boring.
It's not about genre, I want to work where I enjoy myself.
I have never learnt dancing, but I love dancing.
I am missing the process, shoots, audience, applause from them, my co-stars and everything related to 'TKSS.'
I have been doing comedy for the last 15 years but I don't have any qualms admitting that I have learnt a lot from Kapil Sharma. I respect his talent and have not seen a performer like him in my career.
What I like about films is that a story wraps up in three hours while on TV that is not the case.
Being in comedy you don't get any chance to be bored. You have a fun-filled day and at the same time enjoy the work.
I as an individual can always take a joke on me, big time, there's no doubt on that.
I am just an actor, I am given the script, the clothes, the get up.
It was a fantastic journey on 'Jhalak.' I am passionate about dance and got to learn many new dance forms on the show.
The apprehension whether people will like it or not also doesn't bother me much. I've always done my work with a gut feeling that this is what I would like to do and I've always enjoyed doing it.
Sometimes I wear a cap or keep my head down and walk fast, so that people don't recognize me.
I barely get four hours of sleep everyday. I am shooting non-stop for 'CNWK' and 'Akbar-Birbal.' But it's all worth it when people smile at me at traffic signals in warm recognition. I couldn't have asked for more.
There's a certain amount of cuteness in being plump.
For us, shooting for 'The Kapil Sharma Show' is like a get-together of a big family and is a very enjoyable process.
I really like Akshay Kumar. He can be funny and weird while at the same time. His films are always interesting and meaningful.
I miss Sunil Grover. Such a fine talent Mr. Grover is. We have played so many characters together.
If it works, good, if it doesn't, then move on, I will try something else. This is my style of humor and with time, I've understood that people like it and it is working.
We shouldn't have room for violence, we are peace-loving people, and we should stay in peace.
If you are cracking a joke on me and in counter cannot take a joke when I am cracking on you, then, you stay away from me.
I think humor and protest can be subtle, instead of loud and going to the level of violence.
Weight has never been a deterrent in finding the right role.
Once you grow up in a routine life, you start looking for funny moments from daily life. I don't know where did I get my sense of humor from but I used to joke on even small things, slowly things fall in place.
It is not easy to pull off the second season of any show.

I was constantly shooting. Sometimes I would shoot through the night and in the morning go to my next shoot without any sleep or just two hours of sleep.
As an actor, I am never scared of taking on a new project.
My character has got its own individuality after the 'Comedy Nights.' People recognize me as Palak. I'm quite happy that Palak has attained such an identity.
Palak has its three to four signature moves. I cannot showcase just those on the 'Jhalak' stage since it's a hardcore dance show. The tasks cannot be taken lightly. All the contestants are judged technically.
I couldn't believe it the first time when I was a part of 'Angrezi Medium.'
Kapil Sharma is one of the most creative persons that we have in our industry.
I really wish that 'Angrezi Medium' would have released a little earlier or little after - at least, we would have had a proper release. The movie was taken down after one day of release. It is such a beautiful film and Irrfan Khan hasn't done a film in a long time, given his health conditions.
I fit well in the comedy zone. A plump and chubby figure goes well with most onscreen characters... it adds more value to what I say.
I have loved, adored and admired Irrfan Khan's work. Some of his movies are remarkable. So, working with him has been an honor and pleasure for me.
Kapil has his friends circle whom he hangs around with and I have mine, but as co-stars I have immense respect for him.
Comedy comes with a bit of sarcasm, wit and edginess.
SRK is a gem of a person. He told me that he is a keen viewer of 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' and his family records those episodes which he misses during shooting schedules.
I always spend a good amount of time with my family.
I've been in the industry for 13 years and my job is to make people laugh.
I have enjoyed all mediums; in fiction you are performing in front of a camera, there is no live audience.
Even if I have played female characters, nobody has ever teased my kids.
In a live show, the reaction to our jokes is instant. You know immediately whether the joke is working or not.
I am not at all justifying Kapil's abusive behavior. I am only trying to say that when you know the person is depressed, you are still publishing negative stories about him and trying to break him. Why are you instigating him when you know his mental state? It looks as though people have an agenda.
I am specially happy that so many children like what I do. If I had my way I'd only be doing my comic act on the Disney channel.
In future, if I get a chance to perform, I will go for hip hop, locking and popping. Indian is definitely not for me.

I don't walk into a place, start cracking jokes and become the centre of attraction. You will always find me in a corner with one or two people, having personal conversations with a glass in my hand.
To call doing films upgrade from TV wouldn't be right because TV is huge too.
In the past, even I have done shows that have wrapped up in three months.
