One feature film that I am most proud of is Forrest Gump which starred Tom Hanks. Once you are called out to work in film, yes it is a small industry and your name gets around pretty fast.
I saw "Forrest Gump" several times. I personally thought it was Tom Hanks' greatest role and I think it was one of the most eloquent love stories of our time.
I like to watch comedies; the most dramatic that I used to get was 'Forrest Gump.'
I would love to do an anthology show based on the character of Jesse B. Semple that Langston Hughes wrote about. He's sort of a Forrest Gump character in the midst of 20th century Harlem.
There is no one luckier than me. I've been so lucky my dad calls me Forrest Gump.
I turned down 'Forrest Gump.'
I wouldn't trade my career with anybody's. I'd trade a few movies with Tom Hanks - 'Apollo 13 and 'Forrest Gump' - but other than that, I love my career.
It's harder for me to work on a Forrest Gump kind of movie, where everything is invisible.
I will knock out Vernon Forrest in two rounds whether I have a cigarette or not. I know a lot of people want to see me fight more rounds. So, if HBO wants, they can pick two sparring partners for me to fight after I knock out Forrest. That way, the audience can see me fight 12 rounds.
Forrest Mims is the author of the famous book 'Getting Started in Electronics,' published by RadioShack for many years. I bought the book in the 1980s and had a blast making the projects in it. When I was editor-in-chief of 'MAKE,' I asked Forrest to write a column for the magazine, called 'The Backyard Scientist.'
It's only happened to me once [crying in the end of the film] - the end of Forrest Gump. I think it's sad because the moral of the film is that you can have no brain whatsoever and still make it in this world. That made me terribly depressed.
'Forrest Gump' is filled full of moments where your heart just cheers.
There's this new band that just started with us called the Dave Matthews Band. My God! I mean, I like those guys. Plus, Dave Matthews looks just like Forrest Gump.
What do I do? (Jeff) Well, not to insult a man who looks like a rocket scientist in comparison to you, but…run, Forrest, run. (Rafael)
Nathan Bedford Forrest ... used his horsemen as a modern general would use motorized infantry. He liked horses because he liked fast movement, and his mounted men could get from here to there much faster than any infantry could; but when they reached the field they usually tied their horses to trees and fought on foot, and they were as good as the very best infantry. Not for nothing did Forrest say the essence of strategy was to git thar fust with the most men.
Every character I approach, from 'Forrest Gump' all the way up to 'The Spoils Before Dying,' has a different set of requirements and always fascinates me.
I got my story, my dream, from America. The hero I had is Forrest Gump... I like that guy. I've been watching that movie about 10 times. Every time I get frustrated, I watch the movie. I watched the movie before I came here again to New York. I watched the movie again telling me that no matter whatever changed, you are you.
Bump! Bump! Bump! Did you ever ride a wump? We have a Wump with just one hump. But, we know a man called Mr. Gump. Mr Gump has a seven hump Wump. So... if you Bump! Bump! Just jump on the hump on the Wump of Gump.
I'd never seen [Haughton] Forrest's work before until I came across it on the front of an ANZ book. I then researched a whole lot of his work.
Nothing is better than the moment you have Michael Bolton dressed as Forrest Gump and you see it in action.
I wouldn't trade my career with anybody's. I'd trade a few movies with Tom Hanks - 'Apollo 13' and 'Forrest Gump' - but other than that, I love my career.
Mom cooked a lot of turkey when I was growing up. Turkey meatloaf, turkey burgers, ground turkey shepherd's pie - my childhood was the Bubba Gump of turkey. You'd think I would be sick of it, but when I find gems like Gwyneth Paltrow's turkey meatball recipe, it's as though the fowl is no longer foul to me.
I think I've managed to Forrest Gump my way though life.
I'm kind of the Forrest Gump of rock n' roll.
'Forrest Gump' has been one of my favorite movies of all time.
I look like Forrest Gump.
I behave differently in different situations, and I'm slightly unstable and insecure, which I think are natural conditions of what I do. And I have a weird ear. Whatever I hear, I emulate. When I was a kid I did impressions: Forrest Gump, Rain Man, really big caricatures.
I've always felt like the Forrest Gump of the music business. I've been fortunate to work with a lot of great people.
I love 'Forrest Gump;' I like sweet, cheery, happy movies. But it has some dark moments too.
I just drove past Brad Paisley jogging down the side of the road. I rolled down the window and screamed RUN FORREST RUN. I live for….. little moments…..like that.
Like Forrest Gump, I just took off and it paid off.
The practice of passing bills to find out what is in them represents a Forrest Gump-box of chocolates approach to government in which the taxpayers never know what they are going to get.
It's like Forrest Gump said, 'Life is like a box of chocolates.' Your career is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get. But everything you get is going to teach you something along the way and make you the person you are today. That's the exciting part - it's an adventure in itself.
Sentimental is not bad, but it's probably the most likely to go awry. It's the hardest to do and not have it end up being 'Forrest Gump' or something. Maudlin - I just don't want it to be maudlin.
'Forrest Gump' was great, it was fabulous. It lasted much longer than anybody thought, and brought me a degree of attention that no human being on the face of the planet deserves.
I hooked up with Warner Bros, and I was dying to play Ensign Pulver in the 'Mr. Roberts' series, and I didn't get the part. Instead they cast the with Forrest Tucker and Larry Storch in 'F Troop.'
The same way that I know that I'll never do a movie as good or as celebrated as 'Forrest Gump,' I know that I'll never do a movie as bad as 'Bonfire of the Vanities.'
I just like Forrest Gump. Maybe I'm a little smarter than him, maybe I'm not. Probably because of the whole Southern aspect of his character and for some reason I always wind up on the better end of all deals... I've just kind of got the old silly boy luck!
She bathed with roses red,
And violets blew.
And all the sweetest flowres
That in the forrest grew.
I had the Forrest Gump' DVD and started watching. While watching it, I had no intention of writing it. When I started watching it, I got some flashes that it can be adapted in Hindi. That's how it started.
J. Cole's 2014 'Forrest Hills Drive.' The album, artwork, and director of that album was a huge influence on the visuals for 'Homecoming King.'
Luckily, I didn't have many 'day jobs' while trying to find success in Los Angeles. When I first moved to L.A., I worked at Bubba Gump Restaurant for about two days. I didn't even make it through training before I quit. I just didn't care to memorize all the different types of shrimp.
I grew up with Forrest J. Ackerman's 'Famous Monsters of Filmland' along with a plethora of movie tomes and wanted to write about film with a sense of personality, passion, and humor.
I have a lot of those 'Forrest Gump,' I-was-there moments.
I know who I am: the Forrest Gump of basketball.
If everything could be like 'Forrest Gump,' I'd be happy.
I had physical disabilities as a kid. I had fine gross motor problems, so I didn't have natural dexterity in my hands. I also wore corrective braces on my legs, like in 'Forrest Gump.'
There is that interesting thing that Haughton Forrest was imagining the landscapes. They are so dramatic. They are dark, big, gloomy paintings and he was making them during some of the most ominous massacres in Tasmania. Forrest was recording history but missing the human story.
I've gone out on limbs, flung far, and Forrest-Gumped my way into the center of the action.
When you write a song like 'Forrest Gump,' the subject can't be androgynous. It requires an unnecessary amount of effort.
After all, I think Forrest was the most remarkable man our Civil War produced on either side.
'The Stand' came out in May of '94 and was seen by 60 million people a night for four nights, and then two months later, 'Forrest Gump' opened. So within a very short time, I went from being depressed about not getting any work to being in two of the most popular shows of the year.
I always loved Hanks in 'Philadelphia' and 'Forrest Gump' and watching how versatile he was. That shaped my impression of what someone was able to do. Of course, everything De Niro came up with was always something I was taken by.
Some of the films that I have really enjoyed include: The Fifth Element, The Crow, Toys, Seven, Forrest Gump, The Lion King, 12 Monkeys, Doctor Zhivago, Being There, and Trainspotting.
The first game was against Wake Forrest - I'll never forget that game.
I'm the Forrest Gump of comedy.
For some people, I will be Forrest Gump for the rest of my life. But that's OK; that's a good thing.
We are not about creating a Forrest dynasty, we're about helping others.
Growing up, my favorite movies were 'Forrest Gump,' 'Shawshank Redemption,' 'Gladiator' - none of them really had Asian leading men.
I'm very fast. I'm like Forest Gump, except ... I am not an idiot!
