Action helps you think and raises your self-esteem. Good luck happens when you're in action. Ask yourself, "Does this go toward or away from what I want?" There's an animal in us, and it has great instincts. Scan for a desire and follow it. Set a goal, any goal, and start doing everything you can think of to achieve it.
I believe in goal-setting. I don't care what it is. If you want to drop 10 pounds, increase your bench press, jump higher, or win a Super Bowl, you have to set that goal for yourself before you go out and achieve it. I think you have to regulate it, and see how you're building toward it every single day. Am I getting closer to that ultimate goal? Am I doing everything I possibly can today to be successful? Action that is inspired from aligned thought is joyful action. Action that is offered from a place of contridicted thought is hard work that is not satisfying and does not yield good results. Committing to a particular goal publicly puts pressure on oneself. It becomes an enormous action-forcing mechanism and often helps you achieve more than you might have had you kept your goals to yourself.

I think something happens to us biologically when we have children where the worry sets in immediately. And I don't think that ever goes away. But you have to fight your instincts to build walls up around your children or to want to shelter and protect them from everything.
