If you go back to Season 1 of 'The Office,' Steve Carell's character is a lot different.
I don't really do that much office work. I just go to the office, and I'm like Steve Carell in 'The Office.' You know, like, I just go around and like - I don't know what I do in the office. I look at paperwork and act like I'm understanding what's going on there, and I shake my head and put my hand on my chin and like, 'Hmm.'
If you talk to anybody, among the first things you'll hear is, 'Steve Carell is the nicest guy in the world.' And he is. 'Steve Carell is the greatest guy to work with.' And he is. But all of that belies other aspects that are as true with him.
I've been an 'Office' fan from day one. I knew Steve Carell in Chicago back in the day, so I started watching to support a Chicago guy and immediately got hooked on that show.
I knew Steve Carell because of Little Miss Sunshine, so I felt very comfortable with him. Maybe he always does it to guest stars, but I felt as though he was being particularly funny with me, and particularly stretching the boundaries of improvisation. He's such a comic genius. I hate to use that word, because everyone throws it around, but Steve Carell is channeling something.
As a director on 'The Office,' there's a tremendous weight that comes with directing features. I was being asked to direct a show that had already won an Emmy for Best Comedy. Steve Carell and the cast had already won the Screen Actor's Guild Awards.
I love Steve Carell.
Well, on a personal level, I would never want to take on a character who didn’t have some redeemable qualities. Even the worst of people, such as Michael Scott in The Office [Carell’s character in the US version of the Ricky Gervais sitcom], have some decent human qualities that you can latch onto.
I walked toward her office, lost in thought about Lish, and poor Steve, and all the other souls I'd sent out of this life, some quite literally. Where did they go?Did Steve go the same place as Lish? And was it vampire Steve ir normal Steve? What exactly happened to the souls when their human bodies died and became vampires? And then when the vampire bodies died?Hello, headache.
Even with college, the reason I wanted to go so badly is because I wanted to major in film. I want to take screenwriting classes and learn more about behind the scenes stuff, because I love people like Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig who are able to write a lot of their own material and be so involved in everything they do.
I love Steve Carell and Will Ferrell - they're my heroes.
During the off-season I like to travel, go places and learn different cultures. But during the season it's a lot of shows, movies and sleep.
I was in love with the British 'The Office', so even though I love Steve Carell, when they were going to remake it, I was like, 'This is not going to work. I'm going to completely veto this show. I am not going to watch this show.' But now, I love it.
Steve Carell, we’ve been nodding at each other for years now.
Steve Carell and Tina Fey are a match made in comedy heaven. They're perfect.
It's great working with Steve Carell and Jim Carrey. Those guys are really funny.
I've been getting to work with Steve Carell and just feel like the luckiest kid in the world.
