And you just have to hope that you get lucky when you do big things like making a movie, or something.
Just across the ocean in, say Kenya or Tanzania, a two-gender system is vital for the survival of most of the folks who live there. Men do men's work, women do women's work, and so it all gets done and the jackals can't get into the hut and eat grandpa. So, the future of the transgender movement is like the future of all human rights movements: whatever the state of things in your area now, with some work it all gets a little bit better all the time, even if it is sometimes three steps ahead and two steps back.
You put some things out there. Some work, some don't, and then one really takes off, and that pays for your failures. Then you go on to the next one.
There is no business in the world - I don't care what it is, whether it's I.T. or manufacturing - that does not have what I may refer to as a blended resource base. You have high-end work. You have engineering work. You have some local knowledge you require. Then, you have some very low-cost work to be done.
Some guys can do digital things where they make some tricks work, but I work on paper and I work with washes. You can't just change things afterwards. You have to get it right on the page.

Anybody who tells you that being married and having kids is a walk in the park - it's a beautiful thing. It's the best thing I've ever done in my life - but it's definitely work. 3D doesn't work quite so well with quick cuts and I probably would have done some longer takes had I really taken that information onboard.

I work out most days, normally first thing, and then I just see where the day takes me. I recipe test most days, do lots of social media and emails, but nothing else is constant. Some days, I film YouTube videos; other days, I have lots of meetings, work on blog posts, brainstorm ideas, and work on upcoming projects.
Each film is different. Time Code was very quick - a matter of months. Miss Julie has been on my shelf as a script for some seven or eight years. But then the shooting process was very quick - 16 days.
