I just finished touring, and I'm on a detox thing. It's a heavy detox, so nothing in my belly except water, salt, and cayenne pepper.
I believe in detox. I think detox is smart. You've got a guy who's in an opiate cycle or a dope cycle or something, and he can't get out of it. You shut him down long enough so at least his body can start working for itself again.
Drink warm water with lemon first thing in the morning. It's a good way to detox and alkalize your body.
When I go gray, I'm not going to be able to see it that much. I won't be salt and pepper: I'll be like salt and the white pepper you can buy.
I had to de-program myself. From myself. Had to reinvent rituals of purification. So full of the vagrant pollutions of others. It was time to detox. Not only from alcohol, sex, and drugs, but from needy leeches who looked to swab me with their sores. Detox from my own needy lechery. Had to locate the center wound and cauterize. Undo the original sin, the origin of my sickness...Had to learn to replace Them, It, Want, Hurt, Anger, Sorrow, Loss, with Power, Healing, Wisdom, Fulfillment, Satisfaction.
If I want to detox, I'll do the juicing thing for sure. I'll have two juices and then a solid meal for either dinner or lunch.
My go-to drink in the winter to fight colds and flus is about 3.4 ounces of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, lots of cayenne pepper and cinnamon, one lemon, and 1 teaspoon of raw honey.
We talk about America as a melting pot, where you can't turn salt into pepper. Then you got too much pepper. You need the salt. You need the paprika. You need the broth.
Your body is incredible at 'detoxing'. It's called pooping & sweating. Best 'detox diet' = regular exercise, eating more veggies, fruit, healthy fats, lean meat, some grains and drinking more water.
Forgiveness is essential as the ultimate detox
I had between 20 and 40 songs for 'Detox,' and I just couldn't feel it. Usually, I can hear the sequence of an album as I'm going, but I wasn't able to do that. I wasn't feeling it in my gut.
Being pregnant was the best time of my life because nothing could affect me. It was like a detox - I ate healthy, I slept a lot, and I didn't drink. All of my hormones were at the perfect levels.
The ending of my experience with cocaine came in a periodic way. I would get high less frequently, I would use smaller amounts, and I would do coke for less periods of time. And that process just kept increasing and increasing until I wasn't using it at all. I didn't go on a program anywhere. I didn't join an organization or detox anywhere. I just slowly tapered off until it was gone. That was also true of my heavy pot use. I just tapered off until there was almost no use at all. And the same thing was true of drinking tons of beer.
I treat myself pretty good. I take lots of vacations, I eat well, I take supplements, I do mercury detox, I get plenty of sleep, I drink plenty of water and I stay away from drama and stress.
The first couple of days on the detox diet aren't pleasant.
The reason 'Detox' didn't come out was because I didn't like it.
Home is like my detox: it's what keeps me grounded.
