A Quote by John Madden

I wasn't saying that in a sense that I didn't plan on scoring any goals. This won't happen again. It would be nice if it did, but it's reality. — © John Madden
I wasn't saying that in a sense that I didn't plan on scoring any goals. This won't happen again. It would be nice if it did, but it's reality.
It's tough, it's not a nice feeling playing in all these games and not scoring any goals.
I feel embarrassed at times when I come off the pitch because we are losing games and not scoring goals and conceding goals. It's not nice.
I started to play, like all kids do, not as a goalkeeper. I liked scoring goals; in the end, it's all about scoring goals.
I have always been scoring goals, and now the quality of goals I am scoring is better.
Scoring goals is scoring goals. From a striker's point of view, the aim is the same.
Scoring goals is nice, but what matters are results.
Of course a striker wants to score as much as possible. It's nice scoring goals. Goals are like an addiction: when you score, you want to keep doing more and more.
It would be great to go out there to catch all the deep balls and keep scoring and scoring, but obviously teams are not going to let that happen.
I thought I would break the scoring record when I got to 40 goals by the age of 27 or 28, but then Fabio Capello took over and he never picked me again.
Scoring goals is nice, but I'm nowhere near Platini. I hope I can get closer to him.
I never thought I would see it. I’m not saying it’s not possible. I’m not saying it didn’t happen. I don’t know. There’s a lot of guys getting picked on (in the locker room). Some handle it well, some don’t handle it as well. I’m not saying it’s right, and from a locker room sense or from a team sense, I’m not saying it’s wrong. It’s just the way it is.
Common sense dictates that a trace gas needed for life on the planet would not be the cause for destroying life on the planet. Common sense dictates that what has happened before without man can happen again with man. Common sense would dictate that you not believe me, or any one else, but go look for YOURSELF.
What fulfills me are the goals that I have in life. And those goals are not just about scoring goals, although the goals give me a lot of strength and happiness.
Until I went to Aston Villa I was scoring 'X' amount. It just did not happen there. That is it. I have seen it happen with loads of players.
I've always been a player that likes to get round the back and get crosses in for other people. When I first burst on to the scene some people only saw the goals I was scoring. More recently they've taken notice of the goals I've set up. It is nice to be recognized for that.
I prefer scoring goals, but when I am playing out on the right, I tend to come inside and provide assists, but I also like playing on the left, and I think if that is where I play, then I will have more chance of scoring - but I just hope I can help the team score goals with my assists.
