Twitter was actually the holdout in what has turned out to be my total purge of social media.
It was a very, very strange experience to go through on social media. Before that, my social media life had been very tame. I had only just dipped my toes in the world of Twitter and was throwing out a tweet, here and there, of very boring and normal stuff. All of a sudden, Pornstache just turned my world upside down.
I come from a traditional media generation, you know? I'm like the last generation of that. And so the whole world has changed, ultimately. Coming into social media, Twitter, Facebook - I mean, the first social media I ever had was Tumblr.

I'm not actually pop culture or social media savvy. I really didn't know what Twitter was when I created an account.

So the business in effect has morphed from pitching stories to traditional media, to working with bloggers, Twitter, Facebook and other social media, and then putting good content up on owned websites.
We do a lot of things that kind of annoy people and our fan base. We try not to get overloaded on it. For us, that means we don't do social media stuff - we have an Avenged Sevenfold social media, but none of the band members have Facebooks or any sort of Twitter.
There was no social media really when 'Inconvenient Truth' came out. I wish we had Twitter and the power of that to help get the word out.
I think my relationship with social media has changed so much that I really resent social media now. And I'm trying to figure out what a successful exit strategy is as someone who has gotten a lot of opportunities because of social media and how it's given me a portfolio.
Good social media is authentic. What makes social media work is actually having something to say.
We use social media as an adjunct to my total media/market outreach.
Initially, when I joined Twitter, I was active. But, later, I felt that whatever I was tweeting or saying on a social platform turned out to be a little boring.
Keep up with social media. Twitter and Facebook are both great ways to get your music out, especially internationally.
I started using Twitter a lot and realized I had a lot of fans. Then I saw that I can share my music on Twitter and share my YouTube videos on Twitter. That's how I knew social media was going to be a platform to show my music. That's how I started. I started with Twitter.
I put out some very entertaining material on social media! Check my Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat! I got jokes for days!
