When I heard the Pixies for the first time, I connected with that band so heavily I should have been in that band - or at least in a Pixies cover band.
I was just a kid in 1987 when I heard of the Pixies, the year after I graduated high school. But I had my band together, and my best friend at the time, Corey Hickock, who was the guitar player in the band that would become STP, Mighty Joe Young, turned me on to the Pixies.
I was not a Liverpool fan or a Chelsea fan in Madrid. I was an Atletico fan. I still am. Maybe they're the only badge I will kiss.
When we've got something to say to the world, we will. I'm really happy that people are interested. "So, what's up with the Pixies record? So, what's up with the Pixies record?" My dad's a lifelong Notts County fan, but it didn't cross my mind to support his team, and I still feel bad about it. I'm a Tottenham fan because of a 1986 Panini sticker album.
First of all, I was a wrestling fan when I was young. Even when I figured out what wrestling was, I was still a fan.
I have to say I wasn't a huge fan of 'Star Wars', and I'm still not, really, but you have to acknowledge that there's a huge fan base for it, and these people are really sweet. You can't stereotype a 'Star Wars' fan.

Pixies and Sonic Youth were so important to the eighties.
I listen to everything: The Pixies, The Beatles, The Avett Brothers.
I'm a fan of motorsport and a fan of McLaren and I was lucky to work with the company on a small scale across my career but to be able to race now with that brand on my jersey, it's pretty special. I still have to rein in my fanboy attitude sometimes.
I was a huge fan of Damien Rice - and I am a huge fan still!
