What I do to take care of my heart is exercise and try to eat healthy. — © Martina McBride
What I do to take care of my heart is exercise and try to eat healthy.
I love to eat. If I could eat everything in the world and still be healthy or wouldn't catch a heart attack or stroke, I'd eat everything. I just can't. So I got to watch my health and take care of my family.
I watch what I eat. I'm careful with exercise. I do enough to try to stay healthy, but I don't overdo, and I pace myself... Most important of all though, I try to think healthy thoughts.
I just eat healthy and try not to eat late at night. And I exercise as well. That's a big change for me; I work out a lot.
A lot of people's lives are built around a healthy lifestyle. I take really good care with what I eat, and exercise obviously has become part of your lifestyle, going to the gym, meeting with your trainer, going to yoga and all those things. As an actor, that's part of your job; it's part of our responsibility to take care of ourselves, in a way.
I'm very much a California boy. I try to eat healthy and exercise.
I try to exercise as much as possible and eat healthy. But most importantly, I try to make sure that I'm near people who inspire me to be a better person.
I don't do anything out of the ordinary. I try to eat healthy and exercise as much as I can, even if it's just a 20-minute run.
I sit at this really weird crossroads. My job requires me to take in calories. I take care of myself. I eat healthy. I exercise a lot. But then I have to go to events in cocktail dresses and look fancy, and people want to interview me about what I'm wearing, and then I'm compared to people who are wearing size 2 all the time.
You can exercise vigorously and eat junk and get by. But you can't eat perfectly and not exercise. Look at many athletes today; they are human garbage cans. They eat anything, but they exercise so hard they burn it up. But why not exercise and put the right fuel in too?
If you take minutes a day to take care of your mouth, the odds are you'll take the next steps needed to take care of your whole body, like exercising and eating healthy. It's a building block for other healthy habits.
I exercise, and eat good foods. I also take care of my skin.
I try to exercise, I try to think of it less as vanity and more like, how do I stay healthy from the inside out? I try to make my insides happy and healthy and I think that reflects on the outside.
The most important thing for me to teach my children is about health and fitness. It's about taking care of your body and eating foods that are good for you and getting the right exercise that you need... It's just about living a healthy life for longevity and a healthy heart.
Oh, yeah. I think it's very serious that if you don't take care of yourself, and you know, try to live and eat healthy, it will catch you down the line and sit you down or put you in a hospital. So I think it's good to learn good habits, and you know, learn the good things to eat to make you actually feel better.
I really believe the only way to stay healthy is to eat properly, get your rest and exercise. If you don't exercise and do the other two, I still don't think it's going to help you that much.
I stay out of the sun, and if I'm in the sun, I'm wearing SPF. I protect my skin as much as I can; I learned that a long time ago. I also exercise every day and I get the endorphins going. It's important not only for my physical self but also for my mental self and my emotional self. I'm healthy, I eat well most of the time, I take care of myself and I drink a lot of water. But I also enjoy myself. Taking care of yourself doesn't have to be painful, it's about finding the right balance, I think.
