So many times in today's society, we can put football No. 1. And I've done it in my life at certain times. You put football number one, this game is more important than anything else. Well, really, it's not. It's just a game.
Football stadiums are just a reflection of what is going on in society. Many times in stadiums, people just feel more relaxed and say what they think when they're somewhere else.
We had more great times than bad times together, but they've moved on, I've moved on. I have a new team now and I have a new focus.
The other thing is I don't want to move any more. I have moved so many times in my life.
It's said that prayer can move mountains. Well, it's certainly moved the hearts and minds of Americans in their times of trial and helped them to achieve a society that, for all its imperfections, is still the envy of the world and the last, best hope of mankind.
In 21 years there are a lot of ups and downs. There are melancholy times. There are sad times. There are happy times. There are unsure times. There are life lessons.
I've moved about 10 times over the past 15 years. I don't move for the sole purpose of getting rid of stuff. I'm not crazy. I also move so that I never have to wash any windows.
My family, before the divorce, moved several times, and after that we moved a whole bunch more times, and so I don't have an anchor to a single place. My clothes are built to show off the woman who wears them. I like them to be simple... to move well, to move with the times and a little ahead of the times.
When I first retired from the game, I had times in my life when the days just wouldn't move.
Out of the fictitious book I get the expression of the life, of the times, of the manners, of the merriment, of the dress, the pleasure, the laughter, the ridicules of society. The old times live again. Can the heaviest historian do more for me?
I've discovered if you have a small circle of people you know you can rely on - in good times, bad times, happy times, sad times - who aren't going to judge you and will, sometimes, just sit and listen to you without saying anything, then I think you're very fortunate.
You made it something special. Most of all, I want to thank the fans for your support not through the great times that we shared on the football field, but for the last 17 years of my life. You have supported me through all times.
