If I can adapt to different tactics I think I will be a better player.
I think every coach has to adapt to what they have, because they're what you get. You can't just go out to the player tree and pick all the great ones. That doesn't happen. You get a Barry Sanders every now and then. You get a Billy Sims every once in a while. And when you have it, you adapt to their strengths. Whoever comes in here and whoever has this job needs to adapt and will do that.
Neymar will leave Barca fans speechless. He could become an even better player than he was during the Confederations Cup with Brazil. He'll easily adapt to the style of the team and will be very happy there.
You play in different situations and conditions, and you have to come up with new solutions for the problems. It has made me a more rounded player, who can handle different tactics and positions.
Every era of coaches has their own set of problems and challenges. Today's player is different, but some things about them are better than they were in the past. I don't think coaching today's players is any tougher. I think we're a little too hard on the current day player because he's different.
It's important that a player can play in different positions for if we have to change tactics.
As a player, I was always interested in tactics and how I can get better.
There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring. In the tactical area, I think I just have more than most other players.
We'll have a different set of values, and society will adapt. That doesn't mean these changes are all good, just because we will accept them. But the 'Chicken Little' view of history isn't correct. Changes take place gradually, and people and institutions adapt.
The thing I enjoy is that I have come to league as a union player, and I have to adapt to different situations I am facing.
It's great to be compared to a great player like Tracy McGrady, but I think I'm my own type of player. I'm 6'10" and a bit bigger than he is as a player. I also think I'm a bit different and play a different position. He's more of a guard, and I can play all around through five.
As a player, I have this feeling - and I think every player thinks this - that I am responsible for how my team-mates feel. I just want to do my best and give 100 per cent, and if I do that, they will feel better and think, 'I will give 100%.'
We had a chance to see a lot of different styles of play and you had to adapt to the different style each team plays. That?s going to help us come tournament time because the game in the Pac-10 is different from the Big East and we know how to adapt to the different styles. I?m glad I had that opportunity.
I think, as a coach, you have to be willing to do what's best for the player. And you say what's best for the player: is it better to give him a game suspension, three-game suspension, no suspension. I think each case may be different in that.
I think it is a good challenge when you have different balls in different countries. Naturally, it is a bit of skill to adapt quicker than the opposition in different conditions. It is an interesting debate, one that is thankfully not in my hands.
I know it will take a little time to adapt to a different team and a different league.
The Premier League is very difficult football and very different to when you play in Europe, but the player has to have experience to adapt, and this is the key point.
