I love rhinestones, faux jewelry. — © Adriana Trigiani
I love rhinestones, faux jewelry.
I love costume jewelry, the stuff Givenchy/Riccardo Tisci do, and old school rock n' roll jewelry, too.
But if an actress asks me my opinion, I would tell her there are a million different designers who make faux fur. If you like that look, wear faux fur. If you're doing it on the red carpet, you're doing it for how it looks. Faux fur and real fur look the same on camera.
I always accessorize with jewelry. I am a bit of a magpie; I love sparkles, and so wearing jewelry makes me feel more exciting and confident, too!
Anything that's shiny, you can mix together. I love rhinestones with sequins, or baubles with fun gold metallics.
I love how significant jewelry is throughout the world and throughout time. People have been adorning themselves with jewelry for years and its one of the oldest forms of art and design. This is something that has and will always inspire me.
In some roles I have to wear fur, and I always make sure it's fake, like in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Faux fur is great because it shows people that faux can look fabulous.
I'm a big rings person...and bracelets...and earrings. I love all of it [Laughs]. One time, I was getting off an airplane and I had been traveling for like a month in Europe, and I came from the airplane right to my mom's house who I hadn't seen in awhile, and she looked at me and she goes, "Is it possible to fit any more jewelry on you? Is that actually possible?" And I looked down and, because when I travel I don't like to pack my jewelry so I end up wearing a ton of it, and I had just had everything on me. And I love buying jewelry when I travel - so there was a lot.
I like to go out there and perform my best. I like to be the best, I like to shine, I like to be in the spotlight, so I like anything that sparkles. Anything that glitters, that's why I'm into rhinestones. Superstars wear sequins, so I wear sequins and rhinestones.
That's what I love about geeks, that they can call themselves a geek and be proud of it. I love that. I even have a necklace with the word 'geek' spelled out in rhinestones, and I'm very proud, myself.
I would say there is probably a little bit of me in each character. But Purrscilla is a lot like me because she is very into glam and glitz and jewelry and everything very girly. And some of the jewelry in the illustration is even my own jewelry. But I'm not a cat fan - that's the only thing! I'm a dog person.
When I'm in the house of God, I don't wear my jewelry, if you're looking for my jewelry. All you see is my heart of gold.
Funny, I never shopped. Even my jewelry - not a piece of my jewelry I bought for me.
Jewelry is something that has to do with emotion. That aspect of jewelry really interests me.
What I do is take the jewelry back to the jeweler and they redo the jewelry with the same gold from the last thing.
I'm not so much a shoe or bag person as jewelry, and I think it's because jewelry is like candy.
I'm not really much of an actor, so when I started on 'The Daily Show,' I was just trying to adopt the faux authority of a newsperson. Having a British accent definitely gave me a sonic leg up on that because there is a faux authority to the British accent in and of itself.
