I'm watching the charts every week and hoping something will pop into my head.
Every now and again, something will pop into my head when I'm driving or I'm in the shower, you'll just get an image and it stays with you. It doesn't have to be much, it doesn't have to be a story, it could just be an image. But it won't leave your head and that's when you know you've got something.
My week is full-tilt boogie. I wake up every morning, and the singular thought in my head is that maybe today is the day that I'm going to find an artist who is so amazing, an artist who will change pop culture. I'm in hot pursuit, always.
The Beatles and Ray Charles were in the same charts together, and that was just called pop music - it wasn't called soul or rock. The best pop music just stands out as something that's just original, and I think it should all be called pop again.
Every generation throws a hero up the pop charts.
This is the Middle East, where every week you have something new; so whatever you talk about this week will not be valuable next week.
I feel like I'm doing something in Atlanta that nobody ever did as far as rap. If it happens to end up on the top 40 or the pop charts, it doesn't mean I meant to go pop. It's just where the music took me. It started at the bottom, and it rises.
I think 'pop' can be a bit of a dirty word. People are very cool in Australia. They don't like to admit that they like pop. There are people who listen to Triple J and cool stuff like that, but commercial radio is massive, and if you look at the sales of the pop songs every week, people love pop music.
Now there is a new group every week; it seems like everybody and anybody can get into the charts.
Hip-Hop got turned into Hit Pop, The second a record was number one on the pop charts. But don't skip on the heart, it gotta start in the ghetto, Let no one forget about the hard part.
Something will pop up in my head. It could be like the weirdest thing. Like all'a sudden like I have like a jumping banana in my head.
There's always very high tension with dance auditions! You're in a group, watching the people in the front of the room, hoping you'll get something, anything that will relieve a bit of the stress.
I made the mistake of watching "A.I." on cable the week they showed it about 792 times, and I ended up watching it every time it was on.
The stories tend to be what I work on when I'm stuck. Something will just pop into my head and I'll think that's more of a story.
Most of the writing that I do is a complete train of thought process. I'll just be walking down the street or sitting on the toilet or whatever and something will pop into my head and I'll record it on my phone and then over the next little while it'll develop a little more in my head.
I really like binge-watching 'Survivor.' Watching week to week is exciting, but it's difficult because I just want to see what happens.
I'm sure something will pop into my head here in the midst of this press conference, with all the pressure of trying to come up with an answer, but it hadn't yet.
