I have always said that a striker scores a goal but not every goal is scored by a striker. A goalkeeper can make a mistake which is a goal, but every goal still goes past him and you have to accept that.
When all is said and done, I always used to say this to recruits: 'I don't remember one goal I scored. I don't remember one result. I just remember the people that touched my life and that connected with me.'
No I or individual is better than the team. I've scored no goals just on my own. Every goal I've ever scored has been because of someone else on my team, their excellence, their bravery. And I'm kind of the end product of a collection of a really good vibe, and feeling, and creativity on the field.
We used to have championships in the streets with my friends, and whoever scored a goal was the happiest boy in the world. Now, every time that I score, I go back to being a child: the happiness of scoring a goal is unexplainable.

Finals in the World Cup or Copa del Rey are the ones that have stayed with me for longer or that I remember more.
If I score a goal in training, it feels great. But in a stadium, especially Anfield, or even when you score away and the fans are silent, it's just amazing. You are just in the moment. There are times when I've scored, and I can't even remember what happened. It's so good.
I vaguely remember the 1998 World Cup. Michael Owen scored; I remember watching that.
During my time at Juve, I didn't score more than 20 goals a year, but I won every title except the Champions League. I've scored 15 or 16 goals, and I've lifted titles, and other strikers have scored 35 and haven't won anything.
Even if my grandchildren don’t remember the fact that I scored 10,000 runs in Test and ODI cricket, I am confident that they will remember that Sachin Tendulkar used to be my team-mate.
Paolo di Canio is capable of scoring the goal he scored.
I have never really been satisfied by the easily scored goal.
I scored my first goal with the national team against France.
Every spring, this happens: People discover hockey when daylight lasts longer and men grow beards and tie games do not end in shootouts but rather continue until a goal is scored. The seventh game only heightens the mood for players and fans alike.
The first goal I scored for Brazil will live with me forever.
