I'm a career actor. And I question this constant reliance on TV fame and celebrity.
Like, if you are a celebrity, then anyone will let you be in a film or on a TV show, and if you're an actor, chances are if you are successful, you are becoming a celebrity.
I'd sort of acquired somewhat more mature perspective on what my career is and I don't...not anymore...consider fame and fortune my career. I'm not a star. I'm an actor. So in a way, what I want to do as an actor, I would consider good for my career. Does that make sense?
I think youve got to work out what makes you happy. With me, its that I do lots of different things. So Ive got this rather odd career whereby Im not really a stand-up and Im not really an actor and Im not really a writer. But I do them all.
When Im not working... Im an actor! Im auditioning! I like to hang out, have fun, drink, club, meet boys, look for boyfriends, play MASH, the usual.
I don't enjoy being a celebrity, I don't want any part of that or any part of that fame for fame... i'd actually rather die than be a celebrity slime!!!
I have been reporting on celebrity stuff my whole career and am very aware that fame is a slippery slope.
I don't go to premieres. I attend film openings I'm in, and that's about it. Fame and celebrity doesn't matter to me. The longevity of my career does.
I dont like being classed as a celebrity. Im a normal actor whos survived. I find the people at those parties are just there to be seen rather than to engage. That isnt me.
Fame often comes to those who are thinking about something else, whereas celebrity comes to those who think about nothing else. Celebrity is, if you like, a forgery of fame: it has the form but lacks the content.
TV and films are same for me. I took a decision to be an actor, and I am an actor. I never decided to be TV actor or film actor.
I believe India has multi-talented people, so I have also embarked on my journey as an actor. I don't need to be a celebrity, since tennis has already given fame to me.
Fame is a fickle friend, Harry. Celebrity is as celebrity does. Remember that.
Im an actor, full stop. Not an Arab actor. Not an actor of Algerian origin. Just an actor.
I'm not a celebrity or near celebrity. Sometimes people will say, "You're famous" and that stops me right there. What does fame mean? Fame is in the eye of the beholder. So, if somebody wants to call me 'famous', that's their business. I'm just me, a guy who messes around with airplanes and writes books that make sense to him.
The Baha'i celebrity, or the Belebrity, is a character actor with a big head playing an annoying creep on a TV show.
