Honestly, I just like to make movies. The funnier the better.
A lot of people have said my movies are all the same. But I don't actually make an effort to have a style. I'm usually just thinking of what can we do to make it funnier or more interesting or just kind of refine it and it ends up like that.
My specialty at 'SNL' was doing triage. There was always a great need for someone to say, 'Make this funnier. Give me an ending for this. What's a better big laugh for this towards the end? What's a better physical joke in this?' And I just really, over time, honed that specific thing so well.
I love all three 'Cars' movies, and I honestly love almost all of the Pixar movies. They make you laugh, they make you emotional, and they bring back memories.
There's so many movies, they're just like fast food you consume them and you can't even remember what you just ate. I don't want to make those kinds of movies. I want to make the slow food of movies.
The funnier the material, the funnier I could make it.
I just want to make good movies. Honestly, the only difference for me with this stuff is that there is more people on the set.

I don't have this feeling like, oh, I want to live in the United States and make movies and become famous just because the money is here. I like to make movies that tell stories that I care about.

I remember seeing Airplane, and even Mel Brooks movies like History of the World Part I, and just really loving that style of movies that make fun of movies. I think it needs to be done. All of these movies are ripe for being poked at.
It's not like vampires are inherently bad. It's just people need to make better vampire movies.
I like zombie movies, and I like genre movies a lot. To watch. Less so to make, I think. But I grew up on that stuff. I would just grow up watching a lot of horror movies, a lot of slasher movies and then zombie movies.
I'm just looking to be in the best movies possible and do the best work possible and try to become a better actor and make better movies.
I don't want to just make horror movies; I don't want to just make any type of movie - I don't just like horror movies, I love movies.
I can't really remember my life without movies... [Growing up in Hollywood] is no different really. I make movies the same way other kids play tennis or go to piano lessons. I'm trying to get better at what I want to do, just like other kids are trying to get better at what they want to do.
I mean, look, I love movies, not just the ones I make... In fact, I don't like the movies I make very much.
