I really appreciate Greg Jackson. I'm going to stick with him until I'm done fighting, and that's it.
I tend to stick to my team guys, the guys I train with here at Greg Jackson's, because when they're in there, I feel like I'm in there.
The standard is the same. Don't get me wrong, the main difference is the number of sparring partners. Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn are the best coaches in the world in my opinion and in many other people's opinion but it really it comes down to the number of sparring partners. I go to my gym and I have 10 fighters fighting on the local level but when you go over there it's like 30 fighters all fighting in the UFC or other bigger shows. That's really the main thing; the numbers.
Listen, Michael Jackson is really funny. To have time to spend with him and actually be around him, he's not what....people think he is. Michael Jackson's like a black belt too, so he will kick your ass if you say something about him." In disbelief the interviewer replied "No, really?" to which Will said, "Yes, Michael Jackson kicked over my head!
Greg Jackson, he gave me hope you know. He told me listen, you're absolutely not done yet. You have a lot of work to do. If you want to start everything from the beginning, just come to Albuquerque. Come to my clinic. He's a very smart guy and he's a very educated coach, and I enjoy working with him.
I want to go get that 145-pound belt. That's definitely a huge motivation for me. I believe with Greg Jackson's help, I can get that done.
I don't know Greg Schiano personally. But what I do know is Bill Belichick has vouched for him. OK? Urban Meyer has vouched for him. He's coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a professional organization. So many people have vouched for Greg Schiano. Now, all of a sudden, Tennessee is too holy that they don't want Greg Schiano?
I have great coaches, but one thing I've never really had is that head coach - a Greg Jackson, Matt Hume, John Hackleman.
I remember standing across from Rampage Jackson when I was younger - I watched him when I was coming up - and then I was fighting him in Japan.
Greg Jackson is a sport killer
All these guys are just like me. They were a rookie at one time in their life. They treat me like I'm one of the guys. I look at Greg Maddux and saw him sitting over there and said, 'Man, that's Greg Maddux. That guy is going to be in the Hall of Fame.' Now I sit there and talk to him like a teammate. It's a reality check, and it's a great feeling at the same time.
Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn are so, so good at what they do in the mixed martial arts game.
I think the criticism Coach Greg Jackson gets is ridiculous and it makes me angry.
UFC 151 will be remembered as the event Jon Jones and Greg Jackson murdered.
I think it's a great tragedy of childhood that you only really appreciate it once it's done: it's very hard to feel appreciative of the gifts you have until you're gone.
You know something?" He lifted his head, and when he turned to me, he had this strange look in his eyes. Almost as if he was really seeing me for the first time. "I don't think I ever really lived until this. I've never done anything that mattered before, but now I'm fighting to save my life, and yours. And I know it sounds really cheesy and lame, but I don't think I ever really felt alive. Not until I met you.
Until you see the cross as that which is done _by_ you, you will never appreciate that it is done _for_ you.
