People at a point of conflict are always the most interesting stories to tell.
To me, when you have people trying to put their best foot forward but facing conflict, that's when stories are the most interesting.
I get to tell the most interesting stories I know how to tell with the most interesting sentences I know how to compose - and people who aren't related to me read them. To be paid to write things that matter to me is extraordinary.

I think you reveal yourself by what you choose to photograph, but I prefer photographs that tell more about the subject. There's nothing much interesting to tell about me; what's interesting is the person I'm photographing, and that's what I try to show. [...] I think each photographer has a point of view and a way of looking at the world... that has to do with your subject matter and how you choose to present it. What's interesting is letting people tell you about themselves in the picture.
To be at the point in which I am playing characters that make such a difference to people and that really tell interesting and important stories, it took getting here to realize how important it is and how satisfying it is.
