A Quote by Baird T. Spalding

Healing is awakening to the perfection that already is ours. — © Baird T. Spalding
Healing is awakening to the perfection that already is ours.
In spiritual life there is no room for compromise. Awakening is not negotiable; we cannot bargain to hold on to things that please us while relinquishing things that do not matter to us. A lukewarm yearning for awakening is not enough to sustain us through the difficulties involved in letting go. It is important to understand that anything that can be lost was never truly ours, anything that we deeply cling to only imprisons us.
Healing is making whole, restoring a state of perfection and balance that has been lost.
Without collective awakening the catastrophe will come. I think people in the mass media, journalists, film makers and others, you can contribute to the collective awakening if you are awake and then your life will embody that awakening.
If God gave it to me," we say "it's mine. I can do what I want with it." No. The truth is that it is ours to thank Him for and ours to offer back to Him, ours to relinquish, ours to lose, ours to let go of - if we want to find our true selves, if we want real Life, if our hearts are set on glory.
Catharsis is about cleansing and healing at one and the same time - healing memories and attitudes, healing the spirit and the heart.
Being able to give someone a hug from the heart, it's healing. It's healing for yourself and healing for others, and we need a lot of that.
Finding the right healing path requires all or nothing. Once you place conditions on healing, all you can achieve is conditional healing.
The most important healing - realizing who you are. The healing on the outer level is fine, but it's not the essence of healing.
Healing is embracing what is most feared; healing is opening what has been closed, softening what has hardened into obstruction, healing is learning to trust life.
I do believe that healing takes place on a number of different levels and that in fact black healing can be deepened by trying to heal across as well as within. But it could be that to call for black and Jewish healing without acknowledging the need for intra-black healing puts the cart before the horse.
In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.
The process of self-healing is the privilege of every being. Self-healing is not a miracle, nor is self-healing a dramatization of the personality as though you could do something superior. Self-healing is a genuine process of the relationship between the physical and the infinite power of the soul.
I don't see perfection as far as a visual image of perfection. "Perfection" to me is, I walk away from a situation and say, "I did everything I could do right there. There was nothing more that I could do." Like, I worked as hard as I possibly could have. That's perfection.
We yield to none in our love, admiration and respect for the Buddha-the Dharma-the Sangha. They are all ours. Their glories are ours and ours their failures.
In this broad earth of ours, Amid the measureless grossness and the slag, Enclosed and safe within its central heart, Nestles the seed of perfection.
The biggest awakening is the awakening from the childish deceptions and the invented tales of the religion.
