While racists see themselves as proudly punching down, anti-Semites perceive themselves as punching up. — © Bari Weiss
While racists see themselves as proudly punching down, anti-Semites perceive themselves as punching up.
Those who call themselves anti-Zionists usually insist they are not anti-Semites. But I struggle to see what else to call an ideology that seeks to eradicate only one state in the world - the one that happens to be the Jewish one - while empathetically insisting on the rights of self-determination for every other minority.
Writing is basically a job for people who like punching themselves in the face, I’m pretty sure.

Okay, yeah, he staggered back and fell into the condiments. Big deal. There wasn't any blood. I didn't even get him in the face. Muslim communities themselves, as they expect mainstream society to stand down racists, must do more to also stand down the Islamist extremists.
I think that anybody who's anti-selfie is really just a hater. Because, truthfully, why shouldn't people take pictures of themselves? When I'm on Instagram and I see that somebody took a picture of themselves, I'm like, 'Thank you.' I don't need to see a picture of the sky, the trees, plants. There's only one you.
Jacare, he has power. We're two strong guys. He relies on being aggressive and coming forward. He looks to get the takedown. He's punching and he's shooting. I've never been taken down in a fight. Now, I'm not disregarding that I could be taken down, but I just know that I have a little bit more when it comes to giving up takedowns.
People forget: solar panels don't put themselves up. Wind turbines don't manufacture themselves. Businesses don't retrofit themselves to waste less energy and water, nor do homes weatherize themselves.
I always like being a director in terms of giving acting notes and punching up on the fly.
For millennials, being a geek is a positive thing, and we see people proudly self-identifying themselves as geeks.
Levellers wish to level down as far as themselves; but they cannot bear levelling up to themselves.
I have somehow something like "influence" ... In the Anti-Semitic Correspondence ... my name is mentioned in almost every issue. Zarathustra ... has charmed the anti-Semites; there is a special anti-Semitic interpretation of it that made me laugh very much.
