I want to go to a place where I don't know what I'm doing, where maybe I'm lost. And in that uncertain space, I make decisions, and I know all those decisions are going to change everything else. And at a certain point, you just come to a place of rest. In revising, you reduce your options so that nothing is possible, and you just think, I can't change this anymore because I've already passed that decision point.
I am human. I am messy. I'm not trying to be an example. I am not trying to be perfect. I am not trying to say I have all the answers. I am not trying to say I'm right. I am just trying - trying to support what I believe in, trying to do some good in this world, trying to make some noise with my writing while also being myself.
I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this. It's just the things Donald Trump says are crazy. You can't say those things. You shouldn't say those things.
I'm called rude things, and people say nasty stuff. It's disrespectful, and as women we don't deserve that.
I'm attracted to things that make a point or have a certain point of view, but it's not a conscious thing that I decide to do every morning. Unconsciously, what I like has a social commentary in it, or it's about race, or it's risky to do. That's what I like doing.
That was real disrespectful and stupid. But it ain't really catch me off guard. I mean, when you see certain things in a person's character [like J-Hood], you don't get really get caught off by guard by certain actions.
