A lot of players are concerned about their ranking; I think you've got to just enjoy the sport and have fun.
Some folks call tennis a rich people's sport or a white person's game. I guess I started too early because I just thought it was something fun to do. Later, I discovered there was a lot of work to being good in tennis. You've got to make a lot of sacrifices and spend a lot of time if you really want to achieve with this sport, or in any sport, or in anything truly worthwhile.
Speaking on all of it in general, I think we, as MMA fighters, should be getting paid just as well as the NBA players, the NFL players and Major League Baseball, hockey as well, I'm not trying to skip any sport as I don't think any sport is superior to the other.
My aim is to create a happy environment where the players are working hard, but enjoying themselves. You've got to enjoy yourself, and you've got to have a bit of fun as well.
I enjoy photography. It's a lot of fun. It keeps me on my P's and Q's and, when you think about it, most people think photography is just going to a game. But you start to think, dang, that would be a good picture. Or you're driving along and see something and think, 'that would be nice.'
It used to be that a lot of the ranking tournaments were in Britain so British players could just drive an hour up the road and be there. I've had to travel from the other side of the world to play and live in the U.K.
We have a lot of fun every year, and I really enjoy being part of junior golf and the development of these players.
I think golfers get over-concerned about results. Enjoy the process: enjoy the opportunity to play.
You just got to enjoy every bit about it. You know, why not have fun while you're in college?
The players who don't look after themselves physically and mentally and enjoy the nights out a bit too much will suffer, the sport is a lot more professional now.
What we should be very concerned about is the excesses and the abuses. Where we see hunts where the fox is torn away out of the hole and thrown to the hounds, we have to be very concerned. Where we have hunts where foxes are bred for the sport of it, that is not pest control. That is pure bloody sport.
I think there are always a lot of rumours about players from Ajax. We develop great players, not only in Amsterdam but hopefully also in Cape Town, and there is interest in a lot of our players, but we like to keep them for as long as possible.
If I don't get the love of the sport back, it's not about winning or losing to me: it's about having fun. If I can wake up and enjoy what I do, it's gonna show in the octagon.
I think boxing is a singular sport, because the stakes are so high and because it just appeals to people's primal instincts. It's a life and death sport, and it's a sport of sacrifice. It's a humbling sport, and people are coming from humbling circumstances. It's always fun to watch a person that's come from nothing to having everything and losing it again.
Sport climbing is a lot like sport f*#king. It's a lot of fun and requires no commitment.
We used to have a lot of fun. We got cheated out of a lot of money, but we seemed to enjoy ourselves anyway.
Every time I work on something, fun comes first. Whatever it is I think if you have fun doing it, the other things will follow. Albums sales or ranking on charts aren't important.
