Criticism comes with the territory when you don't win games. — © Brendan Rodgers
Criticism comes with the territory when you don't win games.
I live in the moment. I try to win as many games as I can in any given year. That's what I've always tried to do. But I don't dwell on the past games. That doesn't help you win games now. If that helped win games now, I'd dwell on them.
Win games. Win games in the playoffs. Win the Super Bowl. That's what it comes down to. The ultimate goal is to start off by winning the division and go from there. Those are the big goals.
Touchdowns to me means that you're scoring points and helping your team win games. You can have a lot of yards and not have points and not win games. So, this only means something because it has helped our teams win games and we won the division today in a competitive AFC West, that's a good thing.
You don't win games as a coach during games. You win games as a coach before games. Players win during games, not coaches
If you win two games, one game or three games, you can still say it's luck. But when you win a championship over 18 games, it's not luck.
I've laid out a plan for how we keep people safe here at home, and I've laid out a plan of how we wage war and win by denying ISIS territory overseas. We must deny them their territory because the territory that they've conquered because Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama declared victory in Iraq and against every generals advice withdrew all of our troops, leaving a vacuum, weaponry, territory for ISIS to conquer, that territory, their caliphate, is that from which they draw legitimacy, potency, credibility. We have to deny them that territory.
I always felt if you were going to be successful, make sure you get good people. You win with great players. Coaches don't win games. Players win games.
That's all I want to do - win games. Stats will come. That's the player I am. But I would rather win games.
It's always tough when you beat your expectation and you win 48, 49 games and you expect the next year to win 50, 55 games.
That's the key to win a lot of games: you have to pull the wagon together, and everybody has to give 100 per cent, and that's how you're going to win games.
I feel like if the mentality is there then why not aim to win every game? We are not here just coast through games. We need to go into games thinking we are going to win.
Inside the first 20 to 25 games of the season, we were losing these games, getting beat by two and three points. Over the last 10 games, it seems like we're starting to win these games and putting some good things together.
I wasn't as critical during games as I was at practice. Players needed confidence during games more than criticism.
Yelling doesn't win ball games. It doesn't put any points on the scoreboard. And I don't think words win ball games all the time. Players do. Preparation does.
I think where the criticism of videogames come from is where videogames are just Xeroxes of films, and when you get a film adaptation of that game, you've just Xeroxed something twice. I think that's where a lot of the criticism comes from - there are ultra-violent games that are already based on a million films. But there's definitely beauty and art and design in games. I don't think anybody could deny that.
We cannot change every week our idea and philosophy as a club if you win two games or you don't win two games.
