Getting where you want to be has everything to do with awareness, and nothing to do with willpower. — © Cheri Huber
Getting where you want to be has everything to do with awareness, and nothing to do with willpower.
That is what marks out the warrior: the knowledge that willpower and courage are not the same thing. Courage can attract fear and adulation, but willpower requires patience and commitment. Men and women with immense willpower are generally solitary types and give off a kind of coolness. Many people mistakenly think that (they) are cold (people) when nothing could be further from the truth.
If you want to do something that requires willpower - like going for a run after work - you have to conserve your willpower muscle during the day.
As people strengthened their willpower muscles in one part of their lives—in the gym, or a money management program—that strength spilled over into what they ate or how hard they worked. Once willpower became stronger, it touched everything.
Getting everything you want has nothing to do with anything.
One should want only one thing and want it constantly. Then one is sure of getting it. But I desire everything, and consequently get nothing.
We deify willpower and self-control - and mock its absence. People who achieve through remarkable willpower are 'strong' and 'heroic.' People who need help or structure are 'weak.' This is crazy - because few of us can accurately gauge or predict our willpower.
Willpower is the fuel that runs human life; Like a driver in a computer application, Or Operating System in cyber programme, Willpower works life to performances; Life is deadwood; life, robust carrion, Without willpower in bright flame within.
Whatever you do in life, if you want to be creative and intelligent, and develop your brain, you must do everything with the awareness that everything, in some way, connects to everything else.
Awareness means to listen to me unfocused - alert of course, not fallen asleep, but alert to these birds, their chirping, alert to the wind that passes through the trees, alert to everything that is happening. Concentration excludes much, includes little. Awareness excludes nothing, includes all. Awareness is a state of no-mind. You are, yet you are not focused. You are just a mirror reflecting all, echoing all; see the beauty of it and the silence and the stillness.
Awareness means you come with an inner light, you move fully alert. Each step is taken in awareness - the walking, the coming, the sitting - everything is done in full awareness.
Awareness is the birthplace of possibility. Everything you want to do, everything you want to be, starts here.
If you have got pace and awareness of where you want the ball and where you want to go yourself, you are getting in positions behind defenders and that is what defenders want the least.
We, performers, work on willpower. This willpower works in a short term, not durational.
If you don't have the willpower to stop eating carbs, you won't have the willpower to do a dissertation. #truth.
Willpower is concrete, not ethereal. When you do something, you demonstrate your willpower, and it becomes all the easier to have the same power of will the next time.
We can use decision-making to choose the habits we want to form, use willpower to get the habit started, then - and this is the best part - we can allow the extraordinary power of habit to take over. At that point, we're free from the need to decide and the need to use willpower.
