A Quote by Christian Bale

The art of survival is a story that never ends. — © Christian Bale
The art of survival is a story that never ends.
And in reality, I don't think it's a real documentary. It's more a story of her life. It's a story of survival. It's a story of the time in which she lived. The story of success and failure.
Then I felt too that I might take this opportunity to tie up a few loose ends, only of course loose ends can never be properly tied, one is always producing new ones. Time, like the sea, unties all knots. Judgements on people are never final, they emerge from summings up which at once suggest the need of a reconsideration. The fountain of youth is like the monkeys paw in the W. W. Jacobs story. It never ends well.
Every story I do is about people. It's my survival instinct - one person, one story.
I can be an artist a posteriori, not a priori. If my pictures tell the story, our story, human story, then in a hundred years, then they can be considered an art reference, but now they are not made as art. I'm a journalist. My life's on the road, my studio is the planet.
Survival is important, art is secondary. If you aren't alive, how can you create art?
Each day is born with a sunrise and ends in a sunset, the same way we open our eyes to see the light, and close them to hear the dark. You have no control over how your story begins or ends. But by now, you should know that all things have an ending. Every spark returns to darkness. Every sound returns to silence. Every flower returns to sleep with the earth. The journey of the sun and moon is predictable. But yours, is your ultimate ART.
Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.
The art of climbing is the art of survival. The best climber is the man or woman going in the most crazy places but surviving.
Take one story, viewed from two different angles. It is the same day, the same moment, but one angle ends happily... and the other ends badly.
And so many of the kinds of labels you get stuck with don't really tell the story; Progressive, Art Rock, Noise Music, Downtown - it ends up being a struggle to stay out of debates that other people are having around you.
The Resurrection is the eucatastrophe of the story of the Incarnation - This story begins and ends in joy.
