A Quote by Connie Britton

I always want to stretch myself and do something that I haven't done before. — © Connie Britton
I always want to stretch myself and do something that I haven't done before.
The idea of doing something that I've never done before, that presents a new challenge, that forces me to stretch in some way - that's kind of a perfect project for me, and especially something that has greater social, conversational ramifications. I mean what more could you want?
If an artist tries consciously to do something to others, it is to stretch their eyes, their thoughts, to something they would not see or feel if the artist had not done it. To do this, he has to stretch his own first.
Before I sat down and became a writer, before I began to do it habitually and for my living, there was a decades-long stretch when I was terrified that it would suck, so I didn't write. I think that marks a lot of people, a real terror at being bad at something, and unfortunately, you are always bad before you can get a little better.
You always want to try and evolve an art form. It's not a very humble ambition; it reeks of arrogance. If you can, you want to try to do something that people haven't done before and give people something that they haven't seen.
I always want to do things that really have to be done, something that's a challenge - and I'm trying not to repeat myself.
As an actor, you always want to try something you haven't done before. For me, the uncomfortable zone is the one to enter.
I always want to do something I haven't done before and get to work with other actors, writers, or directors that I want to work with.
But as an actor you do want to challenge yourself and step outside what you have done in the past and that what I like to do, I like to jump around and try different things and stretch myself.
As an artist, you want to stretch. That's the only way you're going to grow. If I stay inside my comfort zone, do roles that I've done before, then I'm never going to get better as an actress.
The music is something I've always done and always loved but always really kept for myself. Something I do for me.
I always want to align myself with stuff that's part of doing good. I don't ever want to put myself with something that's not cool and hip. And if you can keep that you can always have fans to support you as well.
I do like a variety of things so I'm always interested in finding something that I haven't done before, if possible, to whatever degree that sometimes changes, and how much is something now that I wouldn't have a year ago but sort of based on what I've done recently as well.
I always set myself new goals. I always want to do better than I did in the past. I always want to achieve things I never achieved before.
I try to hurt myself, to sprain something, writing every novel and story, because I'm stretching for something new and difficult that I haven't done before.
I'm always intrigued by new challenges and things that I've never done before and new experiences. It sounds so simple, but the primary interest is just something that's good and instills within me some kind of gut feeling that feels like something that I'm passionate and excited about, and there can be multiple variables that can instill that. It can be simply a filmmaker, it can just be a character, it can just be the script, or a combination of all those things. But, I'm always just looking to do things that I've never done before, primarily.
In 2012, I promised myself I'd do something each month I'd never done before. So I skydived. I did trapeze lessons. I rode a motorcycle... All stuff that I'd never done.
