A Quote by Dan Kimball

For church planters, the motivation is not about the romantic or heroic venture ... it is because you realize you can't not plant one. — © Dan Kimball
For church planters, the motivation is not about the romantic or heroic venture ... it is because you realize you can't not plant one.
We're not church planters. We are community planters and, as we work in our communities, we join local churches.
In terms of romantic films, all-time romantic films, I really like 'Gone With the Wind.' And I realize I sound so cliched saying that, but there's something so absolutely romantic about it.
There's always something heroic and romantic about taking a stand against the powers that be.
What do we plant when we plant a tree? A thousand things that we daily see, We plant the spire that out-towers the crag, We plant the staff for our country's flag; We plant the shade from the hot sun free, We plant all these when we plant the tree.
We don't tend to write about disease in fiction - not just teen novels but all American novels - because it doesn't fit in with our idea of the heroic romantic epic. There is room only for sacrifice, heroism, war, politics and family struggle.
What do we plant when we plant the tree? We plant the ship that will cross the sea, we plant the mast to carry the sails, we plant the planks to withstand the gales--the keel, the keelson, and beam and knee--we plant the ship when we plant the tree.
If you plant for a season, plant budgets. If you plant for a decade, plant reorganization, If you plant for a century, plant people
The reason can only be this: heroic poetry depends on an heroic age, and an age is heroic because of what it is, not because of what it does.
I coach church planters to look at the ethnic diversity of schools and neighborhoods they are near. This will be an indicator how ethnically diverse their congregation can become.
Motivation is not hard at all because it's such a fun job and everything about it is so exciting so you never really lose motivation.
Something I've noticed. Church planters don't pray for revival. They pray for opportunity, favor with the unchurched and leaders.
We help immigrants because we are an immigrant nation, and we are an immigrant church. We've always done that; this is nothing new to us. This is not a new venture for us. It's who we are and have been from the very beginning of the history of the Catholic Church in this country.
In Puritan thinking, the Christian life was a heroic venture, requiring a full quota of energy.
Don't aim to plant churches. Aim to plant a church that will plant many other churches.
Don't worry about motivation. Motivation is fickle. It comes and goes. It is unreliable - and when you are counting on motivation to get your goals accomplished, you will likely fall short.
You can plant a church and grow a church. That's not that hard to do, but it's harder to be a viable source of transformation in a city or your time or space.
