You could either ignore this advice, or take it from me: Be too nice, and people take you for a dummy.
Being a role model was part of my life and I could either ignore it or take responsibility. I chose to take it.
But I don't think people take bad advice. They've got intuition too, you know. In fact I'd be surprised if they take any advice at all.
I think that sometimes I've been a little too nice. I think you have to have a balance. When you're too nice people take you for granted, they take you for a fool I think.
I wouldn't give myself any advice, because advice is kinda bullshit. Take a deep breath and don't take any of it too seriously.
Rich people take advice from people who are richer than they are. Poor people take advice from their friends, who are just as broke as they are.
Be yourself. Follow your heart. I know it sounds obvious, but it's the best advice at anyone ever. Take advice from other people, but take from it what feels right for you.
I think people in general don't take enough risks. Some people feel that before they can take on that next challenge they need to be 100 percent ready. It's just not true. Even people in their jobs aren't perfect at their jobs. So my biggest advice to people is to step out there. Take the risk and deal with it. What is the worst that could happen? It's about thriving on risk instead of shrinking from risk.
My best parenting advice would be not to take the job too seriously. Teach your kids to be nice, and everything else falls into place.
Even if someone were to take me out on a date, I have a 'touch me not' air about me. I don't like people who take things too fast nor the ones who take forever to open up to me.
I get a lot of people trying to take advantage of me because of my kindness. So, I'm either real nice to you, or I want to cut your head off. There's no in between with me.
I work hard at what I do, and it does take time and a lot of commitment, so for me, it is proving to other people that I'm not just another dummy.
Seek other people's advice, but don't take orders. And don't take 100% of anyone's advice. Make sure every decision you make is a product of your own conclusion. Be a student, not a disciple.
As for kids who are struggling personally, ignore the bullies! Who cares what they think? A lot of the time, they're not thinking, so you shouldn't take their words to heart. Ignore, ignore, ignore, and keep pushing forward.
No 'rules.' What are you, British or something? I guess I'm too nice... No wonder people take advantage of me.
Surround yourself with people that you know will take care of you. It's not so much a mistake advice - it's just advice advice.
Advice is not really very useful. People gave me terrible advice, and I guess I was just smart enough to ignore some of it.
