You can write 'little beast' if you want, but my name is David Ferrer. — © David Ferrer
You can write 'little beast' if you want, but my name is David Ferrer.
On just a personal level, since I was little, I've loved fairytales, especially this one, because it is about what goes into making a beast a beast. Do you start as a beast? Do you turn into a beast because of the way that people treat you? I think it's something that is really universal and hit a chord with me when I was little, and so, hopefully we can explore some of that.
David Holdaway was my stage name. I was an actor for about eight years in the '90s. I had to change my name because there was another David Nicholls, and I thought if I changed it to my mother's name, she'd be touched.

I'm a huge David Lindsay-Abaire fan. If I could write, I would want to write like him.
I feel like a little beast when I'm onstage, and I feel like my fans have that little beast inside of them, too: this hunger for life.
When I sit down to write, I don't think, 'OK, what is the next David O. Russell film I can write, or what is Harvey Weinstein going to want to buy?' Or even, 'What are filmgoers going to want.' I try to think, tell a good story. Just do what you do.
I do get a little pissed at people who write me and want me to do things, and spell my name wrong.
I think New York is destined to have a Democratic mayor, and I want Freddy Ferrer to be that mayor.
The name, Seventh-day Adventist, is a standing rebuke to the Protestant world. Here is the line of distinction between the worshipers of God, and those who worship the beast, and receive his mark. The great conflict is between the commandments of God and the requirements of the beast.
But I have long loved the written word, and come to see in it the power of the sleeping lion. This is my name. This is who I am. This is how I got here. In the absence of an audience, I will write down my story so that it waits like a restful beast with lungs breathing and heart beating.
I dunno - there's always a beast that comes out whenever I want it to... I can control the beast and everything, but it comes out when I want to.
Beast?" Jane murmured. "Then God make me a beast; for, man or beast, I am yours.
Superstition changes a man to a beast, fanaticism makes him a wild beast, and despotism a beast of burden.
A beast does not know that he is a beast, and the nearer a man gets to being a beast, the less he knows it.
