I guess forgiveness, like happiness, isn’t a final destination. You don’t one day get there and get to stay. — © Deb Caletti
I guess forgiveness, like happiness, isn’t a final destination. You don’t one day get there and get to stay.
Happiness is a way of travelling and not a final destination.
The great Western disease is, ‘I'll be happy when... When I get the money. When I get a BMW. When I get this job. When I get the relationship,’ Well, the reality is, you never get to when. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It's in here. And happiness is not next week. It's now.
Understanding- -like civilization, happiness, music, science and a host of other great endeavors--is not a state of being, but a manner of traveling. This great road has no final destination. The journey itself is the reward.
You get lost because you think there is somewhere to go. If you give up believing in a goal or a destination, then you cannot get lost. In the present moment, there is no destination.
If you are not a good team, you will never get to the final day of the Premier League season or the final of the FA Cup.
Besides finding a great place to stay, it's important for me to find at least one cultural destination to visit, other than that, I don't like to plan too much. I like to suss out the situation when I get on the ground and then go!
I just try to keep my game simple and just get chances. I try to stay on the defender's shoulder, run behind because they don't like it and when I get an opportunity, I shoot. If it goes in one day, it goes in. If it doesn't another day, it doesn't.
I've always drawn a lot. I like the idea of turning a 2-D sketch into a 3-D thing very quickly. And clothing is really good for that. You can draw an idea in the morning and you can see it by the end of the day. I think if it were something like a four-month process to get from the idea to the final thing, I would get quite bored.
You don't want to get too wrapped up in that final destination. You want to enjoy the journey, enjoy the process, and just take it one step at a time.
Every day you either get better or you get worse. You never stay the same.
Most people are just trying to get through the day. Be committed to learn to get from the day. Don't just get through it; get from it. Learn from it. Let the day teach you. Join the university of life. What a difference that will make in your future. Commit yourself to learning. Commit yourself to absorbing. Be like a sponge. Get it. Don't miss it.
When you get to the semi-final of a cup you want to get to the final.
I guess if you stay around long enough, they can't get rid of you.
I don't think I'm qualified to answer questions about happiness. But I guess I'd say that I don't think you ever get to put to bed something like a search for order, or any other element of your sensibility, however much you'd like to.
I guess I wanted to show people, among other things, that you don't have to be a hero to get through cancer. You can be a craven coward and get through. You have to stay on your medication and take your treatments, that's all.
I don't watch things like Jeepers Creepers or Final Destination 53 ½. I really like more of the psychological thrillers.
