I'll go to 185 pounds; who cares? Just give me fights.
I'm open to fighting at 185 or 205 pounds, but I think I need to give this 185-pound run a real, honest crack. Being at this weight class has definitely made me into a different fighter.
In kickboxing, if I walked around at 185 pounds, I fought at 185 pounds.
My natural body weight is about 183 pounds. I've just always tried to keep 10 pounds of muscle on me because the bigger you were before, the more money you made. I always tried to cut at least five pounds to get to 185.
How in the world any one weighing 185 pounds can be cute is beyond me.
'I wish I had only offered you a sovereign instead of ten pounds. Give me back nine pounds, Jane; I’ve a use for it.' 'And so have I, sir,' I returned, putting my hands and my purse behind me. 'I could not spare the money on any account.' 'Little niggard!' said he, 'refusing me a pecuniary request! Give me five pounds, Jane.' 'Not five shillings, sir; nor five pence.' 'Just let me look at the cash.' 'No, sir; you are not to be trusted.'
I was filming 'The Avengers' when I got the call for 'Rush,' so I went from 215 pounds, which is how much I weigh when I'm playing Thor, down to about 185 pounds to be able to fit into the car. That was all in about four months.
If I have a chance, I'd like to fight at 185 pounds.
I saw him (Barry Bonds) when he first broke in. He was a scrawny, skinny, 185-pound guy that had great talent. And then he turned himself into a freakin' power hitter with, what, 245, 250 pounds, and his head got twice the size. So, you know, you figure it out. I know he likes to go to the gym. We all like to go to the gym. You just don't get that big.
You just can't say 'I'll fight anybody.' Some guys do that early in their career, and their careers never have a chance to develop, because they have had five fights at 170 pounds, when they're walking around at 147 pounds. It's not smart.
I think, ya know, he's called out a few WWE Superstars; I wouldn't mind taking a crack at Conor McGregor, and he's, like, 165 pounds, 185 pounds soaking wet. So, I would like to slam him on his head a few times.
But I'm 185 pounds and 5'8'. I can't be a powerhouse, I can't be powerbombing people everywhere. That doesn't make sense.
I'm going to keep it real gully with you; the first two months, I wanted to give him back. I expected someone to come and save me because after you have the baby, nobody cares about you anymore. Nobody cares if you sleep, nobody cares if you eat. It's just you and this all-consuming thingy!
People tell me, 'Bill, let it go. The Kennedy assassination was years ago. It was just the assassination of a President and the hijacking of our government by a totalitarian regime - who cares? Just let it go.' I say, 'All right then. That whole Jesus thing? Let it go! It was 2,000 years ago! Who cares?'
Just give me the big fights and pay me to show up and let me do my thing, and I'll go home and hang out with my family and do my thing.
I really liked the transition Demian Maia made from 185 pounds to 170. I plan on doing the same thing as a featherweight.
I just want fights like that. Fights that get me excited. Fights that are going to be exciting.
