If everyone likes you, it probably means you aren't saying much. — © Donna Brazile
If everyone likes you, it probably means you aren't saying much.
It may be expecting too much to expect most intellectuals to have common sense, when their whole life is based on their being uncommon -- that is, saying things that are different from what everyone else is saying. There is only so much genuine originality in anyone. After that, being uncommon means indulging in pointless eccentricities or clever attempts to mock or shock.
Everyone likes to laugh. Everyone likes to dance along to some music.
No one likes having offended another person; hence everyone feels so much better if the other person doesn't show he's been offended. Nobody likes being confronted by a wounded spaniel. Remember that. It is much easier patiently - and tolerantly - to avoid the person you have injured than to approach him as a friend. You need courage for that.
Not everyone likes seeing a strong, buff guy, but everyone likes women. We compete just as hard as men do, and we can do the acting just as well.
Wouldn't that be funny, if the oil rebels were playing U2 in their jungle camps, and the government soldiers were playing U2 in their trucks. I think everyone was killing everyone else and listening to the same music... That is a good trick about this world, Sarah. No one likes each other, but everyone likes U2.
I'm certainly not saying anything new, and I'm not even saying anything all that different from what everyone else I know is saying right now - I'm saying what millions of people are saying. I'm just saying it publicly.
Everyone has to understand what we're saying to one another and there's no point in me thinking the line means this and the person I'm speaking to thinks it means something else. So there's a certain amount of analyzing of text that's of course necessary.
Growing up, you hear Tupac's music, it's kind of like... it goes without saying that everyone likes Tupac.
Everyone likes different things. Not everyone's the same. Not everyone runs their mouth. Not everyone can fight.
People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I'm actually as proud of the things we haven't done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.
I'd rather have preparation than motivation. Everyone likes to play, but no one likes to practice.
The working-class is now issuing from its hiding-place to assert an Englishman's heaven-born privilege of doing as he likes, and is beginning to perplex us by marching where it likes, meeting where it likes, bawling what it likes, breaking what it likes.
All of the advice that I give, I'm not an expert by any means, but it's just my opinion. So if somebody likes me or likes y style or my career, I think they should have that feeling.
Everyone thinks that Jean-Luc is an intellectual. But he's very a sportive person too. He likes action. He likes people to be physical in their roles. They had to move a lot.
It sounds gross to say that I like myself more. But not everyone likes themselves that much. Especially in the comedy world.
The way people deal with me - they'll go overboard in trying to be politically correct and make a mess of it. Everyone's so worried about what they're saying to everyone else, that they don't talk very much.
