I've had more coaches in pregame meetings apologize for cursing. I'm like, I swear like a pirate. You don't have to worry about that.'
I don't like cursing in movies. I feel like cursing has become the new hackiness. You try to find substitutions for cursing.
For us as coaches, we're in a different locker room. So we're coming in pregame, halftime. They spend a lot more time in that locker room than coaches.
I remember when I used to go to coaches' meetings and stuff like that and I would never say anything - I would just sit in a corner and sometimes coaches wouldn't even shake my hand.
A footman may swear; but he cannot swear like a lord. He can swear as often: but can he swear with equal delicacy, propriety, and judgment?
Worry is different from fear. If fear is like a raging fever, worry is a low-grade temperature. It nags at us, simmers in our souls, hovers in the back of our minds like a faint memory. We may fear certain realities, like death; we worry about vague possibilities. Worry distracts us more than paralyzes us. It is like a leaky faucet we never get around to fixing.
I used to struggle a lot with the depiction of violence in 'EastEnders.' I had more meetings with producers about that than anything else. Because it's kind of cartoon violence, and I worry when my little boy watches it.
I could spend my life having meetings, a meeting to have another meeting, a hundred meetings to have another thousand meetings. It's not what I'm about. I don't want to have to get in a queue; that's not how I like to live.
So I saw that there was only me. There was only me who could worry about what was happening here, inside these walls of my life. Other people had their own worlds to worry about, and in the end, they had to fend for themselves, just like us.
If you don't like your situation in life, don't fret or worry--do something about it. Worry less, and act more.
With a sound like a bat hitting a watermelon, pirate fist connected with pirate jaw and a gold tooth bounced across the deck.
I think the only thing in life that you really have to worry about is how you treat other people. If you mess up and treat someone else badly, you apologize, and you don't apologize for anything else. Be yourself and go for it.
I don't like to spend time in endless meetings talking about stuff that isn't going to get anything done. I have meetings, but they're short, prompt and to the point.
The stuff that I used to worry about before, it's like I don't worry about it anymore. Which is kind of a beautiful result of having a baby. It's like everything gets so simple. It's like, 'Great, I care about how you're doing. I care about getting you what you need, and the rest of this stuff, if it happens, great, if it doesn't happen, oh well.'
I think we are in the midst of this period where we are committing this suicide on the planet and everybody is just using up all of our natural resources like a bunch of insane people. That's what I worry about more than I worry about jazz.
I don't feel like I have to apologize for being a technophile, ever. Technology is awesome and lets me do so much. Nor do I feel like I have to apologize for loving my work.
A lot of people when I walk into meetings are like, 'Come on, let's talk more about 'X-Men.' What's it like to be Havok?' It certainly has been opening a lot of doors.
