Yes, actually ever since I saw his films and tried to write about them, Sirk's been in everything I've done. Not Sirk himself, but what I've learned from his work.
Whereas with Sirk, everything is always filmed. No matter what the script, he's always a real director.
I hope that in another way we can move the need to say, instead of being a Black director, or a woman director, or a French director that I'm just a director.
It is every woman's dream to be some man's dream woman.
Women think in Sirk's films. Something which has never struck me with other directors. None of them. Usually women are always reacting, doing what women are supposed to do, but in Sirk they think. It's something that has to be seen.
All things I do are in every woman. Every woman is Medea. Every woman is Jocasta. There comes a time when a woman is a mother to her husband. Clytemnestra is every woman when she kills.
I stand here today as the first woman first minister of our country. Every day I hold this office, I will work to ensure that every woman, every wee girl across this country, gets a chance to do what I've done and follow their dream.
All I know is that you won't come back until they're all dead. 'Eternity.' Every last one of them. Every man. Every woman. Every child. Global massacre. I dream about that day. A planet of corpses
My dream would be a multicultural society, one that is diverse and where every man, woman and child are treated equally. I dream of a world where all people of all races work together in harmony.
Every casting director I've met is a woman.
I think a man's dream woman changes as he goes through different stages in his life. I'm fortunate to be dating my dream woman now.
A director is a director is a director. Man or woman - it doesn't matter.
Deep in every heart slumbers a dream and the couturier knows it: every woman is a princess
Deep in every heart slumbers a dream, and the couturier knows it: every woman is a princess.
Every director will dream of doing films in Hollywood. I want to show my talents there, too.
