You've got to be able to manage change. You've got to be able to learn new tasks. — © Doug McMillon
You've got to be able to manage change. You've got to be able to learn new tasks.
You got to be able to hit mid-range shots, you got to able to hit threes and you got to be able to finish in the lane.
Being able to do a role where you learn a new skill is just such a dream. I recently played a potter and got to learn pottery.
To me to be a storyteller is you got to be able to speak the truth. You've got to be able to absorb life and take in life and be able to interpret it in a way that anybody in this room could say, "Man, that's my story. I can relate to that."
My biggest advice to people now is that when you go through something traumatic, you've got to go talk to somebody. You've got to be able to understand it, make peace with it inside yourself, and you've got to be able to let it go.
When I got into music, I wanted to learn guitar just enough to be able to write songs. I wanted to be able to express myself.
You've always got to have a plan B. You've got to be able to shift gears and find a new course of action.
You've got to be able to take the bad events with the good ones. You've got to learn to deal with them and learn to take as much as you can from those. Have fun and put as much as you can into it. As long as you've done your best, that's all you can do.
A new leader has to be able to change an organization that is dreamless, soulless and visionless... someone's got to make a wake up call.
I think there's a number of pillars to success. One is you've got to have a great idea. The other is you've got to have a constituency, you've got to have finance, and you've got to be able to raise awareness.
I think the key is that nothing's ever perfect and you've got to be able to go with change. It's a lot easier said then done because I especially like things very structured and I don't like change, but it's part of life; you've got to just deal with it.
Being able to get a big body to change direction, I think that's huge. I don't think a lot of tight ends incorporate that enough. I got a lot of that from playing hockey when I was younger, being able to play on the inside and outside of skates, as well as on the basketball court, being able to put my foot into the ground and crossover.
Three Secrets to Success: Be willing to learn new things. Be able to assimilate new information quickly. Be able to get along with and work with other people.
Life has got a habit of not standing hitched. You got to ride it like you find it. You got to change with it. If a day goes by that don't change some of your old notions for new ones, that is just about like trying to milk a dead cow.
Sometimes in this game, you get punched in the face. And you've got to be able to take it and learn from it.
I believe we've got to be able to make some noise to create change.
It should be that every child, when they leave school, can do ten meals, because when they leave home, they've got to be able to eat healthily. Blow the science of it and everything else. They've just got to be able to know what's good for them, how to buy it, and how to make a few dishes that they enjoy and don't cost too much.
