I'm an action transvestite really, so it's running, jumping, climbing trees putting on make-up when you're up there!
I grew up as a tomboy. I was always barefoot, running races with the guys on the block, climbing trees, and beating kids up.
The movements we do are complex but natural, they're picking stuff up off the ground, running, jumping, climbing - stuff that we were made to do, that we were created to do.
I grew up at a time in Singapore - the '70s and '80s - where it was still possible to go riding around the island barefoot. And I was one of these kids that was just climbing trees and running around the neighbourhood.
I have very fond memories of growing up in Greece, of my brothers and I causing chaos and climbing up trees, which is really cool. Back then, we didn't have all the video games and all that stuff. We just had each other, and we played on the street.
You know, it's kind of hard because I really - I see kids on their Rollerblades and their bikes, and just running around, climbing trees, and I used to do that. And I loved doing that.
Playing Mark Antony in Julius Caesar was the most thrilling thing I've done. You get these speeches that were written for men, and you're running around like an action hero, climbing scaffolding and beating people up. It was very freeing.
But when I’m jumping, it’s as if my feelings are going upward to the sky. Really, my urge to be swallowed up by the sky is enough to make my heart quiver. When I’m jumping, I can feel my body parts really well, too—my bounding legs and my clapping hands—and that makes me feel so, so good.
There weren't any schools in my village, so I learnt to read and write from my mother. I played in the fields, sowing seeds, working with animals, jumping in the river, climbing trees.
I grew up wearing trousers and climbing trees.
Nearly anything you need to get at the gym you can get naturally.A lot of training I do is running up hills, running up steps, just in the woods behind my house. Jumping on to things. All these things you can do anywhere, you don't have to go to the gym.
I really like doing action. It's one of those things where I negotiate the world physically, I think, more than mentally. I enjoy running and jumping.
We grew up climbing trees, playing outdoors and cycling.
I want to make sure I'm climbing because there's no back-up. No one in my family has a house, and, regardless of your background, if someone has a house, that means you can always come back home. When you don't have that, it's like there isn't anywhere to stand, so you have to keep jumping.
In my childhood I led the life of a sage, when I grew up I started climbing trees
When in a movie like 'Housefull' you have to create comedy out of falling on a glass table or jumping from huge heights, it's all action, but packaged as comedy. Here you don't just have to perform a heavy-duty action sequence, but you have to make it look funny and that is really difficult. But it's fun... and I really enjoy it.
I grew up barefoot, dirty, climbing trees. It made me appreciate things more.
