I came over to this country, so to be able to lead Team U.S.A. is an absolute honor.
Being able to win gold would be huge because you're playing for so much more than your team, your organization, or your city. You're playing for your country, and to be able to represent Team U.S.A. across your chest and go up there and compete, it's the highest honor.
I don't know that I would have the courage to come over to a new country where the religion is different, the language is different, where I don't have any money. The thought of starting over like that in the way that many refugee families have to start all over again - that's an incredible thing to think about. One of the things I tell about Refugee is that unless you're Native American or a descendant of slaves, your family immigrated to this country - whether they came over on the Mayflower or whether they came over on a raft last year.
I want to work for Nigeria, my blood is here. I captained this team for 14 years, and it is my country. But you people think if there is no Super Eagles we won't exist. I came from another country to coach the Super Eagles so don't think if we don't win my career is over, no. It's just starting.
When I competed, it was for honor and country. It was a privilege to be a part of the U.S. team.

Wales was a great pleasure. It's the biggest honor I've ever had, to lead my country.
If you lead a country like Britain, a strong country, a country which has taken a lead in world affairs in good times and in bad, a country that is always reliable, then you have to have a touch of iron about you.
Right before they named the (2014) team, I stepped back and I allowed myself to realize what I had accomplished. I got overwhelmed and the tears came pretty quickly. It's an honor to represent my country again and to represent my sport to the world and to hold it down for all those 30-year old athletes out there.
Whenever I go to a new country, I always plan in advance. Before visiting the country, I have a look at a few videos: what works over there, what the home team does over there.
I have all over the country and all over the world. It is an honor for me to meet the fans, a blessing.
I speak of honor-your honor to God-your honor to country-your honor to self. I sincerely believe it to be the cure to most of our ills, both on a national or individual basis.
It's an honor, it's a privilege to be able to be one of the guys leading your country out, especially in a World Cup. It's something that you'll be able to tell your grandkids about.
Just to be able to say that I'm from Miami, Florida, in the Winter Olympics was an honor, and I'm proud to be able to say that I'm playing on the U.S. national team for baseball from Miami as a Cuban-American.
You need experience around you when you are a young player. You need to know how to run a team, to lead a team and to play as a team which means, your team has leaders but you still function as a team.
Oh, you know what, it's an honor to be mentioned in the company of those that might lead our country forward after President Obama.
That the win came only days after the Ryder Cup announcement was not a coincidence. Being a captain's pick is a huge honor, and I was very flattered by that, ... but once the Ryder Cup race was over at the PGA, I felt as if there was a burden lifted and I was able to focus on what was at hand this week.
