Insecurities are debilitating a lot of times.
A lot of times, that asshole behavior is a cover for deep insecurities, and sometimes the deeper the insecurities, the bigger the asshole.
I think in general, people look at all Olympic athletes, look at all superstar athletes, and they say, "Okay, this guy doesn't have any insecurities." They're almost like these icons who - I don't know how to say it, but like they can't make mistakes. But the reality is, and I'll tell you this firsthand, a lot of great athletes have a lot of insecurities, and they have a really hard time dealing with a lot of so-called losing or however you want to classify it.
At times, my insecurities were real. How am I going to get back into the team? I felt like I was climbing a ladder that was never-ending at times.
I had my own insecurities, which a lot of my comedy would come from, about not being able to live up to their academic expectations. Acting out those insecurities was a way of confronting them, like, “Let me just lean into being a guy who can’t read or write.”
When you go through a traumatic event, there's a lot of shame that comes with that. A lot of loss of self-esteem. That can become debilitating.
A lot of times black folks look for love in all the wrong places. You're always looking for somebody to love you, be accepted, and there's the insecurities that are even transmitted through rap. Everyone is trying to aim to please too much.
A lot of times when I'm writing lyrics, I just think about insecurities that I might have and turn them into a scene. Some things may be true, and some things may not.
All women have insecurities and bad times. What counts is how you overcome them.
Your basically saying when your ready to marry somebody your wanting to spend your whole life with them with their flaws and all. If your still testing them then it's something there that needs to be worked out. That really falls on the person doing the test. A lot of times it is based on insecurities.
Never reveal your insecurities to a man, because nine times out of 10 they have no idea they even exist.
I have a lot of insecurities, but you learn from your failures.
I suffer anxiety and a lot of insecurities, depression and stuff.
When I work on something I'm not excited about or not as proud of it as I'd like to be, then I try to work even harder to make the next one and address those insecurities, I tackle insecurities rather than run from them.
I embraced everything that I thought would hold me back from pursuing my dreams and used my insecurities to give me the courage to inspire and advocate for others who possessed many of the same insecurities I had.
I've had so many insecurities, and am still getting over a lot.
In 21 years there are a lot of ups and downs. There are melancholy times. There are sad times. There are happy times. There are unsure times. There are life lessons.
