I'll pat myself on the back and admit I have talent. Beyond that, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
I feel like my career has always been a series of collisions and accidents. Being in the right place at the right time. Having the right haircut. It's so mad to think that it happened in the way that it happened.
I've always said and I'd be one of the first people to admit; I think there are literally thousands of actors out there more talented than I am by a country mile. I've just been fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, and I guess I had the right look.
I'm just a lucky slob from Ohio who happened to be in the right place at the right time.
They say the secret of success is being at the right place at the right time, but since you never know when the right time is going to be, I figure the trick is to find the right place and just hang around.
The big thing is, everybody says it's being in the right place at the right time. But it's more than that, it's being in the right place all the time. Because if I make 20 runs to the near post and each time I lose my defender, and 19 times the ball goes over my head or behind me - then one time I'm three yards out, the ball comes to the right place and I tap it in - then people say, right place, right time. And I was there *all* the time.
Being an actor is like winning the lottery. It's not really about your talent, it's right time, right place, right face.
I really feel very blessed, and I don't forget it, either; there's an awful lot of wonderful talent in this world, and I just seem to be in the right place at the right time.
I was starting to write and I was like, Okay, I'm going to cast myself in my own thing.' You have so many of those moments as an actor because it's about talent obviously, but it's mostly about being in the right place at the right time.
I don't consider myself a rock star. I would rather be looked at as a regular guy who happened to be in the right time at the right place. But if you call me a rock star, thank you.
I grew up doing musical theatre in Orlando, Florida. When I was 14, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time - a deliveryman heard me singing and offered to deliver my demo tape to Sony Music. I was just really lucky.
You can have talent, but unless you're in the right place at the right time, then it isn't going to happen for you.
You have to be talented. You have to work hard; you have to get the right pieces flowin' for you at the right time. And that's just what happened to me. I can't explain what happened.
Talent is No. 1. No. 2 is being at the right place at the right time.
For whatever reason, luck and word of mouth - my comedy career couldn't have started better. I went to Edinburgh, selling out this 300-seater just because I got the right place, right time, right venue, right buzz, right reviews early on.
I think it just boils down to right place, right time, and just being able to break them big fights. Maybe it wasn't England's time, and right now, I feel like it's England's time.
