I'm very good at blocking out noise.
Just blocking noise out and doing something you love and enjoying it and having fun with it. It's kind of made my mentality in me staying calmer much better.
Noise is the typographical error and the poorly designed page...Ambiguity is noise. Redundancy is noise. Misuse of words is noise. Vagueness is noise. Jargon is noise.
Rehearsing is more about blocking in the case of movies, I think, and blocking, of course, is very important to the beauty of a scene.
I have desired to do good, but I have not desired to make noise, because I have felt that noise did no good and that good made no noise.
Sometimes it's just rejecting stereotypes, sometimes it's creating work. Sometimes it's just blocking out the noise.
Whatever's asked of me, I'm just going to go out there and perform my routes and how I've been coached all week, perform in the running game, pass blocking, run blocking, whatever it is.
Sandy was particularly destructive because it was prevented from moving back out to sea by a "blocking pattern" associated with the jet stream. There's debate about this, but one recent study suggested that melting sea ice in the Arctic may lead to such blocking.
I stay in my little bubble - that is what I try and do. There is always noise out there and distractions, but you just have to block all that noise out.
Your run blocking looks pretty similar to what the pass blocking looks like when you're going with the play-action pass. So you really do have an opportunity to get really good at it quickly.
If you're good, you fail seventy percent of the time. You have to be mentally capable of blocking that out and keep going.
When you're busy blocking out difficult emotions and feelings, you're not going to feel the good stuff, either.
For twenty-five centuries, Western knowledge has tried to look upon the world. It has failed to understand that the world is not for the beholding. It is for hearing. It is not legible, but audible. Our science has always desired to monitor, measure, abstract, and castrate meaning, forgetting that life is full of noise and that death alone is silent: work noise, noise of man, and noise of beast. Noise bought, sold, or prohibited. Nothing essential happens in the absence of noise.
You can only make a good noise on the guitar if you're committed. Little careful noise doesn't work. You have to be bold.
There's a lot of noise in the world. And one of the beautiful things about doing theater and film is the absence of that noise or, perhaps, the adding of that noise where it's helpful in telling the story. I'm always trying to get rid of that noise. The more you do it, the better you get.
A book isn't noise to drown out other noise.
I always go into a blocking rehearsal with an anchor, with a blocking plan. And sometimes they'll step into the room and they'll be in costume and you're like, "That sucks, that's not going to work. Let's think of something new."
