It is possible with pure willpower to force the kundalini up the shushumna, through the chakras. You will develop visions of other worlds that will not necessarily stop when you want them to. This is a condition we call insanity.
There are six chakras or energy vortexes that lie along that tube. There is a seventh chakra located several inches above the head, but it is not connected.
Kundalini is seen as a serpent that can shoot up the shushumna, past the chakras, opening them all and bringing you into different states of awareness.
The unlocking of the kundalini, which occurs by meditating on the first, second and third chakras, is the entrance into the planes of power.
These are planes of consciousness, and I think human beings exist on two planes of consciousness, the soul and the ego.
In Buddhism we meditate. We make our minds quiet by learning to focus on the chakras, release internal energy that we call kundalini, and bring ourselves into high states of consciousness.
Kundalini energy passes through the shushumna, which is a Sanskrit name for an astral nerve channel that runs along the spinal column.
When there is no thought, the kundalini rises. When you create a vacuum, something will be drawn into it. The less thought you have, the more kundalini will flow through the chakras, the shushumna.
The points or tips of the chakras, where they connect to the main power current, are called the roots or the hearts of the chakras. Within these hearts are seals which control exchange of energy between layers of the aura through that chakra. That is, each of the seven chakras has seven layers, each corresponding to a layer of the auric field.
The chakras are specialized energy centers which connect us to the multidimensional universe. The chakras are dimensional portals within the subtle bodies which take in and process energy of higher vibrational nature so that it may be properly assimilated and used to transform the physical body.
The consciousness of the supreme Purusha remains above, but in the mind there may be a Purusha consciousness which they call the cosmic consciousness - it is wide, all-pervading, one. Outside this goes on the play of Prakriti.
There are seven primary chakras located in the subtle physical body, the body of light and energy that is our awareness and that surrounds the physical.
The body is the vehicle, consciousness the driver. Yoga is the path, and the chakras are the map.
When you are realized, you can start feeling your own chakras and the chakras of other people. This is enlightenment.
Our normal waking consciousness, rational consciousness as we call it, is but one special type of consciousness, whilst all about it, parted from it by the filmiest of screens, there lie potential forms of consciousness entirely different.
There are thousands of lesser chakras. Chakras are doorways to other worlds. When you focus on them, you step into something else.
