A Quote by Friedrich Nietzsche

As far as Germany extends it ruins culture. — © Friedrich Nietzsche
As far as Germany extends it ruins culture.

One culture I find fascinating to juxtapose against American culture is the culture of Germany. They've gone through a long process through their art, poetry, public discourse, their politics, of owning the fact of their complicity in what happened in World War II. It's still a topic of everyday conversation in Germany.

The largest weight is now on Germany's shoulders. Chancellor Merkel must continue to convince people of the EU's importance; she must spearhead the effort to redefine the EU. In order to do this, Germany must become a muscular democracy. It needs to shoulder far more responsibility for the physical security of Europe, especially Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean. For half of all Americans today, the Woodstock culture of the Sixties is the culture they grew up with - their traditional culture. For them, Judeo-Christian culture is outside the mainstream now. The counter-culture has become the dominant culture, and the former culture a dissident culture - something that is far out, and 'extreme'.
I am not ashamed to say that our culture is far better than the Islamic culture, which is a culture of barbarism.
You know, North Korea situation is far worse than East Germany, and South Korea is weaker than West Germany.
The sigh of History rises over ruins, not over landscapes, and in the Antilles there are few ruins to sigh over, apart from the ruins of sugar estates and abandoned forts.

The culture of philanthropy is alive and very well in Africa. International aid strengthens and extends it, but in the communities where I have spent time, it is all-pervasive.
It is the duty of every man, as far as his ability extends, to detect and expose delusion and error.
I feel German, that's for sure. I grew up in Germany, I went to school in Germany and most of my friends are there. I play for Germany.
Beijing's imperial reach extends far and wide, from Taiwan and Xinjiang to the South China Sea and beyond.
