A Quote by Gabrielle Carteris

For me, an aspiration is to be respected by my peers, people in the industry. — © Gabrielle Carteris
For me, an aspiration is to be respected by my peers, people in the industry.
I think my reputation among peers is probably different than my reputation among fans. My peers know me pretty well and so it's fairly accurate. I think I'm respected among my peers.
My aspiration isn't to be some fashion photographer or anything. I think that's a space that's occupied by people that have a full-time commitment to the industry. You have to really be 100% invested to be successful in that industry.
Of course, you want to be respected by your peers, and you want people to connect to you as an artist, but for me, it's more about staying true to myself and doing something I believe in and focusing on that.
My aspiration is not to be loved. It is that my government be respected and credible.
When you're respected by your peers, that's amazing.
The Bhojpuri industry in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh has made me a star. At the same time, I've also given the Bhojpuri industry a new lease of life. Surely, I need to be respected.
The Grammys to me, well, that's my peers. That's the industry thinking what I do is good.
You want to be respected by your bosses and peers.
As long as I'm respected by my peers and coaches, I'm cool.
Success to me is self-determined, the life I live today, to come from a kid strung out on angel dust, homeless, at some points sleeping in the street. No money, not knowing where the next meal was coming from. No sex, no relationships, people that didn't love me, didn't care about me, to where I am today... that's successful. When I signed my record deal I always wanted to be respected by my peers for my ability and my skill level.
I'm so honored to have so many supporters - from my peers to the industry to country radio - on this crazy journey with me. You all have absolutely changed my life.
I want to be someone who is respected and not just in terms of my music. I want to be respected in terms of the way that I treat people... Music is my creative outlet in terms of expressing what is important to me; what has importance, what has a value. And I wanna be respected for that.
You know, as a woman, it is tough to get to the top - like to get to that respected level in this industry - in any industry, I think.
I'm playing against my peers, and if my peers respect me, that's all I can ask for.
As I was coming up, there was so much naysaying, there was so much doubt, whether it was from my peers or people in the industry.
I have met a few people, who are so respected in the fashion industry and all around the world, and are still very humble. People who have it all but act like they only just started, it's beautiful. This is what I want to be.
