Most people figured I'd be in jail. I've been proving people wrong my whole life. — © Gary Sheffield
Most people figured I'd be in jail. I've been proving people wrong my whole life.
I feel like I've been proving people wrong all my life.
I start from the supposition that the world is topsyturvy, that things are all wrong, that the wrong people are in jail and the wrong people are out of jail, that the wrong people are in power and the wrong people are out of power, that the wealth is distributed in this country and the world in such a way as not simply to require small reform but to require a drastic reallocation of wealth. I start from the supposition that we don't have to say too much about this because all we have to do is think about the state of the world today and realize that things are all upside down.
It's all about proving it on the track and proving to people that have different views wrong.
I love proving people wrong and proving myself right and my coaches.
For me, It's not necessarily about proving people wrong, but proving to myself that I can do it my way and still win.
All of my life, I've loved proving people wrong.
There was a part, you know, obviously there was a part of the whole I military experience that you know like hooks right into the whole boyhood experience that that you know most American boys have growing up, you know, which is proving your manhood by proving how hard you are, by proving that you can take it.
Risks are a measure of people. People who won't take them are trying to preserve what they have. People who do take them often end up having more. Some risks have a future, and some people call them wrong. But being right may be like walking backwards proving where you've been. Being wrong isn't in the future, or in the past. Being wrong isn't anywhere but being here. Best place to be, eh?
People said I had no heart, I was lackadaisical, the whole nine yards. But success is the best revenge, and I'm proving all of them wrong, even Evander Holyfield.
It is wrong to take half or more of what people earn; wrong to force some people to pay for the support of others, threatening them with jail if they refuse (are in "noncompliance").
Risks are a measure of people. People who don't take them are trying to preserve what they have. Some risks have a future, and some people call them wrong. But being right may be like walking backwards, proving where you've been.
I'm going to keep proving people wrong because I have a lot of people to prove wrong, a lot of doubters.
It's not about shutting people up or proving them wrong. It's about proving to ourselves what we're about.
I haven't always been thrilled with my work. But the fear of not proving the people wrong who think you can't emerge from a franchise and do well, that's a very strong driving force.

I'm not going to worry about proving people wrong. My goal isn't to prove people wrong. You can't worry about what other people say.
