A Quote by George W. Bush

I think that not criticizing my successor is a statement unto itself, in terms of trying to create an environment where people are able to have a meaningful discussion or debate without trash talk.
A lot of the reason why the debate is acrimonious is because of the 24/7 news cycles, blogs, and people being able to just throw something out there in order to get attention. And I'm not going be out there doing the same thing, trying to trash my successor or call attention to myself. I hope that's a positive contribution to the dialogue.
Great companies create an environment in which employees act like owners. They do this through clear communication, articulation of clear vision and priorities, coaching and openness to debate/discussion. I would argue that this type of environment helps people to be at their best - and helps the company to be at its best.
I love bringing people together. I think that the environment is so important in terms of what kind of relationships you might be able to create, how people get to know each other.
When I talk about places like Saudi Arabia or Israel or even now with Venezuela, I'm not criticizing the people. I'm not criticizing their faith. I'm not criticizing their way of life.
If you take a strong stance and have a clear opinion or statement on any subject online, you're going to polarize people. And without that polarity, there's no discussion. Discussion is what I want, which means that I'm fine with the consequences.
You are criticizing me for my fashion statement. My wife keeps on criticizing me for my blank bank statement
I really think that life isn't logical and life isn't always meaningful. I'm just trying to go into that zone without being too random, and just trying to create some new logic [in moviemaking] that feels like dreams.
Ignorance is not something that lends itself to a meaningful discussion.
Everybody gets all worked up about trash talk but it is what it is - it's talk... You ask any player, honestly, if trash talk's gonna affect how hard they play, because if a little trash talk affects how hard they can play, it just lets us know that they were holding back or weren't playing harder or as hard as they could.
I talk trash, but the thing is, I talk trash about people I'm actually going to fight, who are actually in my weight class.
Good directors don't answer questions with their work. They generate debate and create discussion.
We [in the MBA] get to create a situation where we're really choosing the students to join our environment based upon what we think they can teach the rest of us. We're always trying to attract people who are going to bring excitement and intellectual curiosity into our classrooms in our environment.
The worst thing about our political system is that people debate; I wish our politicians were able to talk to each other rather than scream while trying to gain sound bites.
Social media enables us to talk about issues, shine a light on problems, and raise awareness of struggles that might have gone unnoticed. On the flipside, it also allows for a lot of noise and distractions. Sometimes it doesn't create the best environment for a healthy discussion and can lead to trolling.
Blogging is great, and I read blogs all day long. However, my goal is really to have a deep, meaningful discussion with people. For some reason, I'm able to accomplish this best via email.
Honestly, I don't like trash talk, because we gonna fight anyways, right? We don't need to trash talk.
