I was just a very creative kid.
I think whatever is going on with my brain, I'm very, very - and I'm not saying this as a positive thing, it's just a fact - I'm very creative. I have a very strong imagination, and have since I was a little kid. That is where a lot of my world comes from. It's like I'm off somewhere else. And I can have a problem in life because of that, because I'm always off in some other world thinking about something else. It's constant.
Obviously, I'm going to be embarrassing to the kid. There's just no way not. I just hope the kid has a really good sense of humor... My husband's very serious - he doesn't find me funny at all - so I'm hoping the kid is like, 'Mom is hilarious!' That'd be really great.
I was very creative when I was a kid. Doing so much stuff, I think that creates a different coordination.
Something awful happens to a person who grows up as a creative kid and suddenly finds no creative outlet as an adult.
I’m not very creative” doesn’t work. There’s no such thing as creative people and non-creative people. There are only people who use their creativity and people who don’t. Unused creativity doesn’t just disappear. It lives within us until it’s expressed, neglected to death, or suffocated by resentment and fear.
Honestly, it's a blessing. Benny's [Blanco] probably one of the most talented people I know. He's just a very proactive guy when it comes to music and is just very creative. I think because of that, it makes it very easy to work with him.
I wasn't in the art world at all as a kid; I was just creative, and we were always doing arts and crafts.
Ultimately, I felt fortunate, because in many ways I did identify with aspects of being gay that were very stereotypical. I was a big theatre kid in high school, I was creative, I was very emotionally sensitive, even hypersensitive. I loved female divas.
As a kid I was goofy and creative and sensitive. I like to think I'm all of those now too - just with wrinkles.
Chess can open up a kid's brain, and develop it in a playful creative way. They can learn playfully about creative, strategic, and logical thinking, and quick problem-solving.
I'm just a kid that defied the odds. I'm just a kid that ignored the doubt. I'm just a kid from a little place in Dublin, Ireland, that went all the way, and I'm going to continue to go all the way.
I've always known actors because my parents are actors on stage and so I lived in a very creative environment when I was a kid. All my life.
My mom put me in this extracurricular dance class when I was a kid. And so I think that just started the creative part of my brain. That's what activated that.
Many creative people are finding that creativity doesn't grow in abundance, it grows from scarcity - the more Lego bricks you have doesn't mean you're going to be more creative; you can be very creative with very few Lego bricks.
All too often, when creative people pick out someone else's creative work as an inspiration, what they end up with is very, very far from the original.
A kid might help another kid who fell into a river, and a kid might help another kid search for a lost baseball, but there isn't a kid I've met who will help another kid out of a humiliating situation. We just aren't built that way.
