It is nice to pick a squad or train players for 30 minutes, but I do not like the life of a coach.
When I lived in Hungerford, it was wake up 5:30 A.M., get to the van at 6 A.M. with eight other blokes, drive to Shinfield, which is in Reading, 45 minutes away. Start at 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. with two half-hour breaks and then home. Train Tuesday and Thursday and then play on Saturday.
I used to only train 30 minutes a day.
I've got to think through all of those things - competition for places, players who need match minutes, and keeping the unity of the squad.
Sometimes the show needs that kick in the ass so being able to sing a Nirvana song kind of takes it there. I've grown up putting on extravagant shows with Girl Talk so when I'm playing I like to go nuts. After 30 minutes of pointing and clicking it's nice to scream into a microphone for three minutes.
It is obvious that it is nice for any player to know he is wanted by a team like Barcelona, with Guardiola as coach, and with players like Messi or Puyol.
I'm not silly enough to say I don't take note of what other strikers are doing. I was totally aware players were scoring that were in the squad - and of English players scoring who weren't in the squad.
I am the coach, all I do is train the players who are put at my disposal.
I come here to be coach of Manchester City and train these players. That's the reason I am here.
One man has enthusiasm for 30 minutes, another for 30 days, but it is the man who has it for 30 years who makes a success of his life.
I love Coach K's passion to coach his players and to coach the game. I examined and watched the interaction between him and his staff, along with the players, and was impressed how hard they played.
I admire Arsenal and the philosophy that the young players have. Liverpool, with their Spanish players, they also have an incredible squad. And Manchester United and Chelsea are teams that are very big, like Real Madrid and Barcelona, with money and incredible players.
I train with joy and fun, because if I'm not persuaded by the squad at my disposal, I try changing things around, moving players into new positions, and trying something different; otherwise, I get bored.
On Furnishing One's Home - Pick your furniture like you pick a wife; it should make you feel comfortable and look nice, but not so nice that if someone walks past it they want to steal it.
I try to swim for 30 minutes and walk for 30 minutes, because if I don't, my finely honed body will slip into its old ways.
You only have to look at the England squad to see the amount of players who get in the squad and start the games - the majority play in the Champions League.
I'm doing cardio five days a week and will do anywhere from 30 minutes up to an hour each session, but never under 30 minutes.
